Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Heard about all contractors, but any blue badge?

From what I heard, this is only a lay off for contract employees only. Of course the blue badge I heard it from got the boot almost immediately after. Anyone know what departments they are hitting hard or who’s next? Right now no news for me, but several of the people I know (Almost all contractors) have all been called today. Anyone know about this Monday thing?

I’m glad to be gone from engineering. My leadership were unstable alcoholics. Bragged about getting sh**faced every weekend like high schoolers. Typical leadership at Gulfstream.

Im glad. Working for Gulfstream is a liability for my career. For years my direct manager wanted me to learn our legacy systems. Instead I spent those years studying and learning new skills. He hated me for it, but now watch it pay off.

Blue badge here. 20/50 people blue badges kicked out in my facility. Got also the 15 days thing about maybe being rescinded but it sounds like some kind of sketchy legal thing GAC is doing to avoid problems. Some bad performers and some great/necessary people kicked out. Very strange selection.

I was a blue badge. My director & HR called me this morning. I was told about the 15th, and got an email today saying the same thing. So I may get called back. I wonder if that was everyone, or just some of us got that two week "pre-layoff pseudo-furlough"

Yep got called today 15 years down the tubes. If your manager didn’t call you to say they are sorry to see you go then they probably had something to do with your demise. Their day will come as management likes to turn on each other. Life goes on . Good luck folks

I counted about 900 contractor terminations in the IT termination request system today. Lots of direct coworkers also let go today. 33 percent of my department. Blue badges not in the termination system yet because they are waiting till May 15th to officially terminate those employees. Perhaps setting up unemployment for them first? This is awful.

Getting close to retirement, almost 15 years in dark blue, got the call this morning. Laid off until middle of May with a very slight chance of getting called back. Still nothing in writing though. Talked to several others with same exact story. What kind of lawyers handle something like this?

That’s not true. Lots of blue badges were let go. If your leadership hasn’t given the all clear, I wouldn’t say your area is done yet.
