The Gulfstream Las Vegas Site was a money maker for the company. That's what makes this really hard to understand. For our size, all of our numbers were better than all the other facilities. It took talented and dedicated people to do that. Just throwing that talent away is sicking.

I feel for you guys in Vegas. The LV economy is not going to recover for quite a while. Even when c-sinos and hotels re-open, no one will have money to take trips. If you can move, start planning. It's a sad fact that people who get laid off can't earn the same pay in many of the cities where GAC located. Savannah's economy is in a similar freefall, too. Best of luck to you guys. Your coworkers did appreciate your hard work.

Yep i was part of the Las Vegas team and we came in thursday only to be told to go home and wait for the call on friday. Friday came around and i got my call. I was one of the fortunate ones to work a couple of weeks until the 15th but after that i have no job. Its gonna be hard finding something else because now everyone else is also looking for jobs. I made some good friends in vegas.

Husband worked there 10 yrs+. NO NOTICE. They were furloughed the previous week, then came in to work the following week...worked them to Thursday...called them into a meeting end of day...
told them they were letting everyone go...and they would hear from them via email next day what plan was...Friday comes with an email that they were closed permanently. Told everyone there would be a discounted Cobra plan. We do not know how much that will be. They also did not say anything about a severance pay. SAD SAD SAD! I knew a couple years back when they let go of approx 12 people of high seniority, it wasn't a good company. Lots of great people who are dedicated to their jobs are now without jobs. They did keep on a crew to finish 1 plane for a week...but then they are gone as well.
Everyone be safe! God Bless!

Gulfstream needed their own maintenance facility, so built one from the ground up and own it... I'm not gonna tell them (Corp) again, but I'll mention this, Henderson Executive Airport was the site to built and add on to from the ground up... Oh well, it still is! Sorry team we'll always be Gulfstream Las Vegas Familia 4ever...Be safe out there.

It’s a sad, sad end for an amazing facility over a 20 year run. Some of the best of the best gave their heart, soul and talents to this endeavor. My husband being one of them. No one saw this coming. An extremely hard blow to about 80 hard working people. It was always mentioned that Long Beach facility was a future consideration for shut down because of the high operating costs of CA - never LV. Las Vegas has been a solid money maker and a highly desired facility by customers because of the dedication to excellence. This is crushing to many families during this most difficult time of Covid lockdown, especially losing all healthcare benefits soon - no one can afford full-cost Cobra. God be with all of us

Gulfstream sold Vegas for fast cash. Two reasons why:

Las Vegas site was very small in square footage, and techs were constantly towing in and out planes to accommodate mx. In essence, this puts a profit cap on how much money they can make with only so much space.

They were also located in a prime real estate spot, literally walking distance to the main strip. So it's gonna sell for good money.

I'm sure our customers will miss Vegas, and I already miss the people there.
