Dell - you are not a technology company

Dell you are nothing but a logistics and manufacturing company. You won’t ever BE a technology company. You don’t build technologies! You’ve got an upper management c-suite and SVP suite that lives in 1996. You’ve got no experience in building... — read more

There is not higher reasoning behind cuts

Its the same intelligentsia BS that these central planners in government take. They are focused on hacking and slashing and "process" to optimize, they don't know how to really create value like true industrialists. Dell's quality and innovation will... — read more

Got notified yesterday gone Friday

Honestly, I prefer when they just walked you out the door. At least you were done right then and there I’m trying to wrap up all my HR stuff and my manager keeps asking me for additional items and transition. Plus, the HR rep sent me a welcome to... — read more

I am seeing people post on LinkedIn they were laid off and their last day is Friday. Here’s to another week of anxiety not knowing who will be gone and who will pick up even more workload.

A better way to handle layoffs

But just because cuts are sometimes unavoidable doesn't mean we have to handle them with all the sensitivity of a Mafia hit job. The current process of frog-marching employees out the door and disappearing them on Slack is not only degrading to... — read more

How many employees are left?

You are all saying that the goal is to cut the total number from 130 000 to 100 000. Anyone knows what's the current number? How many employees are being laid off per week?

Have you RTO

Are you back on the office or waiting for march to apply for the remote option ? If in the office, is it busy ?

Was just laid off

Manager scheduled a 1 on 1 for this morning. While joining the Zoom meeting HR popped in. Bam. Laid off.

Layoff happening today

Some already happened. North America is supposed to be done with layoffs by EOD Tuesday.

Cyber is the least likely to ever be hit with layoffs.

If you are an IT guru or thinking of cyber security, I suggest you up your knowledge and skills and get into it because they are very very very rarely even considered for layoffs. I've been with Dell for 6 years now and as many layoffs as there have... — read more

Quiet quitting in the office

What are some of the effective ways I can quiet quit without management suspecting? I want to be able to do it from the office but not arouse suspicion of management. I'm in RR if that helps now we're being forced back onsite.

Never let go of so many people in my career

In my overall career I’ve never had to let go of so many people in my organization over the past 3 years as I have with Dell. Yet, they keep the SVP’s and VP’s in place. You’ve got SVP’s report to SVP’s! You’ve got VP’s with 2 reports! But... — read more

Jen Fe--h call - comments by an employee

I am getting to understand a bit more on the RTO situation after last week’s call. Funny enough most of the leaders looked like they were at home. Idk who the HR lady was but I guess Dell “hinted” towards RTO. They brought examples of other company... — read more

Nxt round in August

They will assess remotes and come up with a nautghty or nice list for wfr. Heard from a very reliables source

Will there be another layoff

will there be another layoff or are they hoping for a fallout after the new policies and not have to do another layoff. I can see one happening if the fallout doesn't happen fast enough. People were saying more sales team were going to be let go but... — read more

Hurry up with the layoffs!

Talked to several across teams. Most of us are wishing for a layoff and severance at this point.

Severance Reduction or Complete Removal of Severance

Hi fellow Dellionaires, Heard from a pretty good source that Dell is planning on reducing head count from 134,000 down to 100,000 over the next 2 years. Also heard that they may be drastically reducing severance packages, or eliminating them all... — read more

Sweeping RTO is a bullsh-t strat

I get it that they want to make some people come back. But I also see it’s completely inefficient the way they are going about it. What’s the point of bringing back the whole WFH teams that’ve been working like that for years? If someone performs... — read more
