My managers just send us a Monday 10.00 am (30 min.) team meeting. Mandatory for those not being on vacation. Special note made that our GM will join. Wondering what this will be all about.

Last two layoffs, my team had the same late scheduled out of cycle ‘business update’ call. One time it was a team call. One time it was 1:1s.
Don’t assume every Monday call invite is a layoff call. These two calls were to inform us of org changes. And to let us know our roles remain or are re-purposed.
Dell does this swiftly so that productivity may return. This is not to say Monday won’t see more cuts.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
GM can be a title alongside the traditional ones in many countries - basically the country lead/country manager. Typically in countries with primarily sales/marketing, so GM is then the highest ranking sales (sr director, VP, SVP).
Telling how much that they respect your work/life balance by assuming youll be on checking work emails on a saturday.
Consider it a blessing if youre let go.
Unless i know ahead of time for project work that i need to do something, theres no way in he-l im signing into work email over the weekend. Fk that...set some boundaries for yourself.
GM is not a role at Dell.
They are implementing a 14 direct reports minimum so any manager with fewer than 14 is either getting additional direct reports or getting demoted to an individual contributor or getting laid off.
When one of our team members got laid off last February she received a surprise 1 on 1 from our manager on Monday morning that was attended by HR.
Right after our manager scheduled a meeting for the entire remaining team to let us know.
Good luck to all of us
Uh-oh.. not good, not good, not good, noot goood..
My past experience is them sharing that other team members have been let go and letting the rest know what changes to expect moving forward. My guess is you're safe from WFR. But not that that's a good thing...
Maybe it’s to share another joke about pizza?
I work in PG CSG and got an invite from the sr director and the whole team got it as well - not individual invites. A team meeting on Monday AM. Wondering what that is
why do people not post location or org...sounds bogus when you don't. Fake news.
Can you see the other participants / invitees? If not........ bad news
Yup, flattening the middle management and they become leads and IC’s no longer manager or director level.
It sounds like your Manager will now be your lead and yall will be reporting to the GM, not a wfr.
You will be getting WFR'd.
It mean you are getting WFR
What group, org and location
What org?
