For what it's worth - I was fired in last year's Feb cut. Although it took me a while to get a new job, I'm better off now. I'm not looking for kumbaya around the campfire, but the new team is pretty supportive, and we're not always looking over our shoulder waiting for the next cut.
My advice for anyone who survives is to start looking for your next job now. You don't own Dell anything and they obviously don't feel that they owe you anything.

I’m not in management and myself and scores of others in my same role got mysterious “business update” meetings added to our calendars for tomorrow AM. It’s going to be a big layoff even if it is just marketing (which I am). I bet this page will blow up tomorrow with updates.

My boss is high up, she told me that they are aiming to get the workforce down from 112,000 to 87,000. Next round is February/march
