After 19 years at Bny I was laid off today. I know some other people were let go too. It’s a said feeling as I had so many great co-workers. On the other side I’m happy that I no longer need to be a part of daily circus called Bny Mellon. Good luck... — read more

Take care of your employees and they'll take care of your business

Is it just me?
I have never felt so unappreciated at job. First the lay offs and now no working from home. It almost seems like they are trying to make things as miserable as possible. But they still except us to give so much. Funny. Other companies I've worked for... — read more
Bring In a Union
What do we have to do to bring in a union. We need a union to protect the rights of the workers. They need to stop treating us like trash and tossing us out after they’ve used and abused us.

Layoffs, No WFH, and Poor Compensation - Moral In The Dumpster
BNYM has reached an all time low. It's bad enough that they cut staff thru their forced ranking process. Next they take away Work From Home. Then when it's compensation time, they stiff their employees. I had to tell my group that the money wasn't... — read more
So the layoffs happened, are we a successful company now?
Of course I’m being sarcastic and maybe oversimplifying but I don’t see anything changing other than the fact that our workload doubled. At the same time the same ill practices that got us where we are now are still being done.

Blowback from bad corporate behavior
Among other things, I see employees not commenting on a colleague's errors, since they aren't responsible -- and 'an error for them nudges me up on the job security scale'. This is one of the negative outcomes of the current atmosphere.
Moving on
I'm glad they fired me. Now I have 3 offers paying better than BNY. I never would have had the guts to move out on BNY on my own. I was way too comfortable. I hope it works out good for others as well.
Scharf and BNY could care less about their employees
I’m embarassed to say I work there. These people are the scum of the earth. I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy a career at BNY. Literally every bank is better than us, and now with the WFH being axed; what’s the point.
