Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Is it just me?

I have never felt so unappreciated at job. First the lay offs and now no working from home. It almost seems like they are trying to make things as miserable as possible. But they still except us to give so much. Funny. Other companies I've worked for have employee appreciate days and gifts. I have never been given a thing from bny. Except for stress.

Most of them @ BNYmellon operation has already started feeling the brunt...when their turn comes on lay off hit list. In fact currently folks are unable to focus on work with fear running behind their mind.

One thing is quiet evident in operations dept. Top managment have place their favorites very conveniently at good position in no time. Those who were just senior associates n specialist . Today they all are at good position n in safe zone .

Such a dirty politics never been witnessed all these years. Never understood how come US top managment being so ignorant on India operations on unfair games held here. There were very good people managers we lost by top mgt playing a good game. Really appreciate their future plans to elevate their folks.

If the firm is so desperate cost cut short , they shd remove few directors , who getting fat salary m bonuses. Definitely, no operation dept with hardly strength on 500 , would have 4 - 5 Directors. It really sounds weird. Indian top mgt is playing good game to safeguard their positions n good at showcasing to US top mgt folks. Kudos to Indian top mgt . I definitely feel some stringent actions shd to be taken on Indian top mgt.

I still take pride of BNYmellon as good brand , but slowly our brand getting deteriorated which really concern .

I was told: you should be happy with your job, it can also be done in a low cost country.

Oh dear, sweetie, you have not seen nuthin’ yet.... you are in for a very rude awakening, this world is not what you think....you better get a tougher layer of skin because things in this country are going down fast and the way you are ‘treated’ by your employer will be the least of your problems.

You better wake up. And learn how to read what’s really going on in the world....

Sorry, but from a job one should be able to except adequate training, some stability, and work like balance from their employer. There is zero of any of this at BNY Mellon. If you don't like my opinion, don't comment. Thanks, but it's true.

The irony is, there are hundreds of people applying everyday for your jobs, so BNYM does not give one flying f#ck about your happiness.

Pro tip: learn to just show up, keep your mouth shut, do what you’re told, do the bare minimum to get your paycheck and always be looking for a better job.

It’s not rocket science.

Definitely not you. My only motivation is doing the bare minimum not to get fired and collect a paycheck. With the forced rankings, reduced merit and possibly no bonus, on top of no work from home, I am an employee at will and nothing more. First chance to bounce I get I’m gone.

The zero training is so true. Not sure how they get away with it.

Well yeah you are hired at will, but if you treat your employees like c-ap and make them feel disposeable their not likely to care much about their work. Like Richard Branson says "take care of your employees and they'll take care of your business". I dont know what BNY's motto is, but I'm sure people here could come up with a few.

It’s not you. That’s how it is at BNY Mellon every day. The company does not care about employees, we are just a number, they don’t care if you quit, sometimes I think they want us to quit, less people to lay-off. Is very depressing to work for BNY.....
