Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

What has BNYM taken away since 2007?

Off the top of my head:

Legacy Mellon pension

BNYM cash balance plan

Full 6% match on 401K

Health benefits have gone down every year, pushing HSA currently

Work from home

Reduced severance package

BlackBerry/work phones

Promotions only take affect quarterly or semi annually

Bonuses are way down, and rumor is ops will get none going forward

Merit is usually 2% or less

Xmas parties reduced or now cash bar after 2 drinks

Even garbage cans at our desks

Well wait they did add software to monitor key strokes and forced rankings. That’s an addition.

What else am I missing?

Who can remember the “Employer of Choice” ? A generally fair, humane, professional company - where much of the time great work was recognized and even rewarded...where business strategy was thought and rethought if necessary-and always communicated....

Seems like a distant dream..

Employees who bid on and get promotional jobs (job grade changes) only get an increase in July, no matter when they move into the role (used to be quarterly).

They have removed the "New York" from the name and replaced it by "India". Bank of India Mellon.

They effectively took away capacity in the men's rooms given our 'collaborative' spaces ... too many people on the floor now.
