Worst managed layoff ever from the start

They don’t care about their employees and need to change their “people first” motto. The new sr. leadership has an ulterior motive and it really is all who you know. The decades of service just don’t matter. No empathy at all for those leaving. And... — read more

Remote corporate marketing managers

Does anyone know if WFH (but in the US) corporate marketing managers are affected by these layoffs or if it’s just in-office corporate teams?

Which teams affected?

I've been hearing from friends and former colleagues that marketing and brand teams are affected. What positions? Are they maintaining ANY marketing roles moving forward?

Marriott

Had the opportunity to listen to Frid, Drew. What a pathetic leadership team. All had the same slides and talking point. None took the time to look into the camera and speak to the associates, instead the all looked like robots spewing the Marriott... — read more

For fair compensation

Has anyone honestly thought about asking for legal help with compensation issues? I feel like I can't trust the deal they're going to propose.

Peggy has never addressed the team in over a year

Peggy, has not addressed the team until the re-org call. Lack of empathy. She ended the call that she is excited for the future, while more than 800 people lost their jobs and health insurance. Terrible severance. Greeding top level executives.

They will lose more than those they let go

I was retained, but started looking a month or so ago after a few meetings I had with senior leaders. I’ve turned down a few offers, but I’m gone once the right offer comes through. I know I’m lot the only one with the same thought process. — read more

So Disappointing

As a long time employee of Marriott, I am so disappointed in what is taking place and the spin the company is using. Mr. Marriott's defining principle, "Take care of your associates and they will take care of your customers" has been discarded. This... — read more

For Love & Money?... HA!

Executives, namely Peggy F-R, love saying that her org's (customer group) focus and the driving force behind Marriott Bonvoy is "love and money". It's clear by how they've approached this massive re-org though that the real driving force here is... — read more

More work for the rest of us

Those of us left can't handle the amount of work with the people we have and no direction yet on how we are supposed to move forward. This right here. Are we expected to now do double the work for the same pay? The coming months are going to be a... — read more

I wish they'd just get it over with

The wait is ki-ling me. Not to mention, if this stretches into January as was mentioned, I don't know how I'll be able to handle it mentally. Worrying and stressing about layoffs nonstop for months is not something anybody should be forced to do... — read more

How is Marriott these days?

I moved from New Orleans to NYC and I was considering applying. It used to be a decent place to work but I haven't worked at one since before the pandemic. My guess is things might have changed drastically in the last five years, so any input would... — read more
