Thread regarding Marriott layoffs

Marriott

Had the opportunity to listen to Frid, Drew. What a pathetic leadership team. All had the same slides and talking point. None took the time to look into the camera and speak to the associates, instead the all looked like robots spewing the Marriott talking points. These are Senior Level executives with many years of service with Marriott. Clearly they haven’t learned very much on how to effectively communicate and convey empathy. Tony Capuano you must be so proud and enjoy unlocking Marriott potential, will nice to sit back and watch your franchisee’s frustration when they are no longer supported.

Marriott lay-offs affected most middle management leaders, who have done the best work on getting the company back from covid. It's clear, this is corporate greed and more to come in 2025!

Tony has implemented a short term fix. It’s not sustainable, and over time he will come to realize, he should have invested in development and grown top line revenue vs cutting valuable staff and letting all of that knowledge walk out the door. Tony and his leadership team demonstrated just how out of touch and over their heads they actually are. In an environment where the economy is poised to take off with the new administration, Marriott will be scrambling to find people.

Too many of them have had too many years at Marriott. Too many appointed upwards from within. Now too comfortable to move on. Too much mediocrity at the high levels. Too much self-serving. Too much executive back-slapping. It's all too much

The senior level executives are the problem but they live in a cloud of denial

Tony has to deliver the 90M in savings promised to the franchise owners in the last earnings call. He was asked how they would deliver that promise and here is part of the answer. smh it was a matter of time before they started cutting jobs and yet in some areas they have hired a number of people, all friends of friends and they were not affected by the layoffs. Make that make sense
