Thread regarding Marriott layoffs

It might be over - for now

Am I the only one who thinks this is far from over? I'm betting you we'll be looking at more cuts soon.

This has nothing to do with people from Starbucks or Hilton being hired at HQ (and to be honest, I don’t know of anyone hired at the level of where these decisions are being made from either of those two places). This all was put in motion at the beginning of the year, prior to any recent hires. I know a few senior leaders who left this year because they were not happy with the direction from above and what they saw coming.

It’s not just VPs. They had a bunch of Starbucks and Hilton hires at corporate. Bringing that blow it up and build it back mentality.

A VP of HR in isn’t making those decisions, they’re a dime a dozen in Ty’s org and part of the reason we were to top heavy (TBH it’s probably the group that needed the most trimming of fat).

I completely agree. Also noticed they brought in a new HR VP who comes from private equity. If you aren’t familiar private equity is awful for employees. Less benefits, less morale, etc. I’m sure bonuses will be scaled back.
