Thread regarding Marriott layoffs

Some advice re severance packages (if you've been offered one)

A job elimination su-ks, no two ways about it. I worked for MI for 30 years and was furloughed during COVID. When it was obvious that my role was on the chopping block, I agonized about taking the severance package. After considering all of the factors, I took it and never looked back. I have friends who rejected the package and 'rolled-the-dice', hoping that they would be called back from furlough. Some were, some weren't. Some of those who weren't called back received less of a severance than what was initially offered. My advice: it's your career, so protect yourself.

If you are not eligible for - or have NOT been offered - a severance package, please do not lose faith. It's a big industry and there is life after Marriott.

Hang in there.
