Marriott is being hush hush about exactly how many, but HUGE cuts are happening. Notifications to those affected this week, new postings this month, and those that don't get offers are out Jan 2. An entire IT department is going from 40+ to 4, North America reservation centers closing and consolidating leadership, HR, and support teams, support above center is being gutted. Not Mr. Marriott's vision at all. 😔

Can someone tell me what they have the meetings listed as? I have a meeting listed as a QA workshop. When I looked up the person they are a workforce specialist. I found out today that my AM at the CEC is being laid off. My meeting is for two hours so I’m just trying to prepare myself. Any answer is greatly appreciated.
Marriott needs to look at all their Global Sales Coordinators. All of them are lazy, useless and don’t know their jobs! All they do is loop other departments in and never offer any assistance or take any initiative to do their jobs.
They offer severance but only if you stay until their end date they set for you. So I can’t just find another job. I have to wait until the last minute and hope I can find something that quickly. They are trying to get out of paying it wherever they can. The VP in my meeting was smiling the whole time like it was good news. I mean maybe for them but honestly at the rate they are going those VPs are next. They won’t have anyone under them anymore so why have them. It’s honestly funny, my team has a good part in processing terminations and such throughout different systems. They let go of our whole team. They later posted “available” jobs which are all pay cuts and when you look for them on the website they don’t actually exist. Even if I could apply and get something, why the fu-k would I want to continue to work for a company that has shown such disrespect to all these loyal employees. I would much rather step back and watch it burn down from the outside thank you
@m0 if your in a salary position its more but not great! Just big bend over and take it kinda thing.
@kv reach out to the hr personal that was in the meeting when you got laid off I reach out and was able to find out my severance that way without waiting. Based on 20 years I can say I’m guessing 10 weeks max also ask them to send you the packet with information on their conditions with accepting lump sum vs weekly payouts.
20 years out the window! The kicker? They lay us off calling it a restructuring and proceed to post our EXACT JOB DESCRIPTION the following business day! The deadline to apply? One week. Before severance package details are given. They don’t want us making informed decisions. Marriott uses you and throws you out like trash because they can pay overseas employees less! They are going AI with more cuts to come. So many departments from IT to corporate gone, scheduling meetings every 15 minutes and using deceptive language to lay employees off and can’t even do so in a straight forward manner. SPEAK WITH YOUR WALLET and choose Hilton!
Hearing that IT, Site support, Workforce, Intraday, and Quality teams were impacted in the latest round. The Cresta pilot seems to be expanding and will replace more roles next October. Managers were let go and those left will have to report to the only managers left. So prepare to not be adequately supported as they will be doing the work of 5-6 people.
They added like 6 jobs and let go of 200 plus in the us and Canada what a joke.
Omaha, Miami, Austin, and Canada are all getting the boot. Entire departments are being let go. The VP is full of it. Saying we will have other jobs to reapply to.
Which above property support departments?
@a6 I don't think there's any center in NAD that's not going to feel this to some extent
More cuts next year so tighten up that resume. Another October, another round rough way to head into the holidays.
@OP which centers?
