What are layoffs achieving?
Seriously, outside of short-sighted and short-lived cost cuts, has there ever been anything positive that can be associated with layoffs? We've been having one layoff after another, one restructuring after another, and nothing improves. In fact, it's the opposite. So what's the point?
What is everyone who was RIFd doing with their VZ Merch?
Bon fire, Good Will, Mailing it back to Sam and Dan in big box with a large middle finger? Give me your suggestions.
Optum Real Crew
[The arena is packed, the crowd is roaring, and the spotlight shines on the ring. A muscular wrestler with a flashy outfit grabs the mic, flexing his muscles.]
Wrestler: "Listen up, all you fans out there! This is a shout out from your pals at UHC, the champions on the blue side of the house! And let me tell you, we’re fed up with this Optum quagmire, brother! It’s time to shake things up!"
[He paces the ring, pointing at the audience.]
Wrestler: "That’s right! UHC is bringing back the Super Connectors, and we’re gonna give it all away for FREE! You heard me, folks! FREE! No more waiting around, no more games!"
[He raises an eyebrow, leaning closer to the camera.]
Wrestler: "Now, I don’t know if this big announcement is gonna drop before or after the next earnings, but mark my words—there’s a major cut coming to Optum! They won’t know what hit ‘em!"
[He gestures dramatically, as if flipping a switch.]
Wrestler: "And our inside girl? Oh yeah, she’s in the orange room, ready to turn off the lights on this whole operation! It’s time to shine a spotlight on the real champions, and that’s UHC, baby!"
[He flexes again, the crowd erupts in cheers.]
Wrestler: "So get ready, because we’re coming for you, and we’re bringing the heat! UHC is here to dominate!"
[He drops the mic, striking a pose as the crowd cheers. UHG CFO body slams OI CEO and people rush the ring.]
Please post if you got “The RIF”
I wish more people knew about this site and would post if they got the RIF or if they knew someone who got the RIF.
It would be nice to know what L3Harris shenanigans are going on.
Plus, I might know where they could find new employment at; as an example I know for a fact that LM is hiring for Maritime in Riviera Beach. FL, just down the coast from here.
Omnicell's TITANIC moment
Is it just me, or did they literally name the flagship product to rhyme with Titanic? 🚢💀 At least they’re being honest about the iceberg. 🧊
While the rest of us are getting "The Email" 📧👋 and watching the rolling layoffs like it’s a Netflix horror special, "Leadership" is out here doing the most:
The Strategy: Selling vaporware that doesn’t exist.
The Pivot: Sprinkling "AI" on the trash fire to hide the smell. 🤖💩
The Grind: Posting "Inspirational" LinkedIn thought-leadership slop while the actual product hasn't been updated since the Stone Age.
And we HAVE to talk about our favorite "30 Under 30" Queen. 👑✨ After absolutely nuking the Product Roadmap into the sun, she’s been promoted to "Head of Strategy." 🤡
WTF does that even mean? Is the strategy just "How to fail upward while keeping a curated aesthetic"? Asking for a friend. 💅
Anyone else tired of drowning?
Despite all the promises, the workload hasn't changed after all the layoffs. If anything, it's gotten worse since morale has tanked and many of the remaining employees are burned out and have given up on putting in the effort. The fact that there's less people to cushion the impacts of the folks who've always been lazy regardless of staffing levels doesn't help at all either.
I feel like an id--t for being so proud of my work ethic and working way above my pay grade for so long. I love my job, I really do, but things are continuing to spiral and I'm so, so tired of working my a-s off everyday when I feel neither valued nor respected.
If I'm probably going to get laid off within the next couple months anyway, why should I keep doing the work of 3 people? I might have to join the horde of people coasting until they give us a package or at least just stop the paychecks.
Today is employee appreciation day
How many of you were appreciated by losing your job?

Pharm Systems Downfall Continues
Heard that Pharm Systems is at it again. Another wave of VPs and executives leaving. Others (barely any) updating their LinkedIn profiles to "Open to Work" and probably asking competitors for job openings. Europe, US - they're flying out faster than Tom&Jerry in their private jet to Jackson Hole. The sales organization is wiped out - a printed picture memory at this point. The people who actually knew the clients, knew the product, and knew how to close - gone. Last I heard, they now have project managers hunting for device business. Let that sink in. Somewhere along the way, politics ate strategy alive. Then came the massive bonus and commission cuts - looks good on the quarterly report. The PnL is probably on life support by another travel ban. Then Services? Handed to people with 0 experience whose previous team was actually taken apart and promptly set on fire. Those of us who got out are just sitting here with popcorn, watching, and waiting for the "Pharm Systems Acquired By..." press release to drop.
News got out there, but when is layoffs happens. Anyone has idea
Specific week if you know it's good. Just to prepare
UK
Someone posted this in a different thread, it's worth exposing it here on the main page:
- In the UK it's a legal requirement to make roles redundant, not people. However there are no formal job roles assigned, and having access immediately revoked and being escorted from the building is not commensurate with a "consultation". This is not legal, but just like the lack of WARN notices, they keep doing it.
E&I layoff, how large?
Does anyone know how large the E&I layoff was? We have lost 3 people in our department, not sure about others or if this is only one of many waves. Morel is low with many who weren’t laid off receiving 0 raise and 0 bonus, a slap on the face and an insult, yet the brown mgmt seem to be getting promotions and bumps again!
LAOFFS INCOMING
Another round of layoffs end of this week into next.
If you get laid off, do you get a prorated bonus payment?
And if you quit do you get a prorated bonus in March of the following year?
Layoffs happened today
Involuntary separation program (aka layoffs) happened today. Eliminated full teams…
Saskatchewan Polytechnic Cuts Jobs, Opposition Demands Halt
Saskatchewan Polytechnic continues to experience job cuts. The institution has laid off 151 employees across 2025 and 2026. Recently, 23 full-time and part-time positions were eliminated. The health information management program is also suspended for 2026-27. The Official Opposition urges the Provincial Government to stop further layoffs.

Correct calculations
Has anyone calculated all the layoff payments? Have they been correct?
Not sure how much fees are being taken other than taxes...

More layoffs - March 2026
I know of two people who got laid off yesterday under the content operations umbrella. There’s probably more I didn’t hear about.

So now layoffs confirmed, but how much percentage
News media also reported, it will happen as soon as March. And said it's more than regular layoff, and they have lot of cash
They just laid off a lot of FTE associates
Capital One laid off a bunch of Discover associates on Feb 23, 2026. I'm also one of the impacted person unfortunately after Capital One and Discover merger finalized and completed. Estimates number is 1500 to 1700 people (%15 of Business Technology).
Latest impacts
Which lines of businesses will be next thus year? Not sure if anyone has an idea but definitely curious.

Layoffs this week
I hear there are some layoffs today and later this week. Does anyone have info on counts and teams impacted?
Does anyone still have any motivation left?
I sure don't. It's just a paycheck, with no hope that raises would even keep up with inflation. Between offshoring, AI hype, zero growth paths, and the constant threat of being cut for no reason other than bottom line, why even try? Working hard, doing overtime, delivering quality - it's all just investing in future regret.
Future Severance impacts?
Does anyone think that severance amounts will be impacted for future layoffs?
Dublin
Dublin. Layoffs. Tech heavily hit with over 30 people axed. Others too. Massive.
Anyone from HR have the ba--s for the truth?
Questions for HR reading this.
Are they planning on doing a mass layoff of remote employees?
Is there any truth to the shift of sending more positions overseas?
What are we not being told?
No more rounds before July?
Is that certain?
HP to exit Boise in 2027
https://boisedev.com/news/2026/03/05/hp-says-it-will-exit-boise-site/
It took me ten months to get an interview
Ten. Frigging. Months. And I'm not optimistic it'll even pan out. I've lost count of the resumes, the outreach, the recruiters. Fake job posts, dead ends everywhere. There were moments I wanted to give up, just let whatever happen, happen. I thought I'd find some calm despite the endless layoffs. Instead, I just wound myself up tighter.
Anyone know where the 400 cuts are hitting?
My manager said our team is safe, but I'm not convinced they actually know for sure.
Town hall
town hall says “leverage global teams”.
I might as well look for another job at this point.
Scharf's Plan...
By forcing the cost of severance down from "top of house" to the division/unit level Scharf is deliberately incentivizing managers to give unwarranted poor reviews to good people so that they can be fired "for cause" with no severance, no cost to the bank. While callous, cold and calculating, it's perfectly legal.
Scharf knows that Secretary of Treasury Bessent and President Trump are pushing hard to deregulate banking which directly impacts staffing at all banks. By eliminating the CFPB and loosening regulatory oversight, employees whose duties include this funciton are no longer needed because the people they answer to in the government agencies are gone.
WF is removing coordination roles in a way that purposefully avoids the visibility that normally accompanies large layoffs. WF distributes reductions in smaller groups across several sites — for example, eliminating roles in increments of 40 or 45 across different regions over several months. None of these individual events reaches the WARN Act threshold that would require public disclosure. Challenger, Gray & Christmas refers to this as the pattern of "forever layoffs" — ongoing workforce optimization rather than discrete restructuring.
The weakening of worker protection enforcement — reduced CFPB oversight of employment-related financial products, reduced NLRB enforcement capacity, weakened EEOC investigation resources — makes this quiet, distributed layoff approach less legally risky for banks. The institutional deterrent against conducting large-scale reductions in ways that might constitute systematic discrimination or age-based targeting has weakened alongside the broader regulatory rollback.
15% cut
Very likely
Extremely scary layoffs are coming
All WF employees should be scared
Hiring freeze
Is that now official?
