H1-B Visa Renewals by U.S.Bank down 80% since last year

Last year, U.S. Bank made a decision that hasn't been widely reported: they chose not to renew H1-B visas for a number of their H1-B staff (~80%). This action, which technically amounts to a termination, is based on the date when these employees initially entered the country or started their jobs with U.S.Bank (3 year Visa term).

H1B vs offshoring

When I was hired at USB about 5 years ago I was surprised by the number of people were offshore. Also surprised by the number of employees who were from India or other countries. Didn’t really think much of it until I was the last American born person on my team of 10 and I was the one part of a larger RIF.
Anyone know if the bank is limiting H1B now that their plan is to ramp up the offshoring jobs to India? Anyone know any H1Bs who have been part of a RIF?

Bring on the lawsuits.

For every American laid off and on boarding H1Bs at the same time.

Every H1B visa holder and Green card petitioner's visa and applications need to be cancelled immediately.

If not for yourself, this needs to be the done for the younger unemployed or recently graduated americans. Enough of this sh-t.

Why dont we hire people from here?

Local American professionals are in surplus and jobless but we are paying more in visa fees instead of hiring people from here. Non-American managers prefer to hire non-American staff working here in the US, where Americans must be considered first. I cannot believe companies are unable to find people to do the job, there are folks here with even better skills.

I NO LONGER CARE.....

Fiserv has a few H1B holders that are spying or other companies or countries. Not sure if they are part of the same group. Cyberteam in the United States please be aware of this if not already aware. I am just trying to make it to my Fiserv layof or exit plan. I personally now carry language translator and keep it on at all times because of all the foreign languages spoken on the work floor and on conference calls all the time, which is an HR violation.

How to Get the Justice You Deserve

If you are a U.S. citizen or green card holder and feel you’ve been unjustly treated—whether through biased performance evaluations, wrongful termination, or being passed over for promotions—especially when H-1B workers are in your team, know that there are legal channels ready to support and protect you. Your rights deserve to be defended, and you don't have to stand alone. You have a voice, and there are avenues to fight for the fair treatment and justice you are entitled to:

  1. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)

The EEOC stands as a safeguard against workplace discrimination. If you’ve been unfairly dismissed or treated differently because of the presence of H-1B workers in your team, you have every right to file a charge with them. No worker should be sidelined or mistreated.

  1. U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)

The DOL ensures that U.S. workers are protected against any unfair treatment. Employers are legally obligated to prioritize American workers for hiring and retention. If you’ve been bypassed for an H-1B worker or unfairly dismissed, the DOL will investigate violations and hold employers accountable.

  1. State Fair Employment Practices Agencies (FEPAs)

Many states have their own agencies to fight workplace discrimination and unfair dismissal. These agencies are there to ensure that U.S. workers’ rights are respected. Check your state’s official website to find out how you can take action.

  1. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)

The NLRB steps in when unfair treatment involves collective bargaining or labor issues. If you believe that U.S. workers are being dismissed in favor of H-1B employees, the NLRB can investigate and take action to ensure fair labor practices.

  1. Contact Your Elected Officials

You have the power to demand accountability from your elected representatives. Write to your Congressman or Senator to raise your concerns. They can fight for your rights, bring attention to the unfair treatment of American workers, and push for legislative changes to prevent such abuses.

  1. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

It is illegal for employers to displace U.S. workers in favor of H-1B workers or to keep H-1B workers on staff while laying off U.S. employees. If you have evidence of this, you can report these violations to USCIS for thorough investigation and enforcement.

  1. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

The presence of H-1B workers from countries that are adversarial to U.S. national security can expose companies and industries to significant risks—from intellectual property theft to potential espionage. If you suspect that there’s foreign influence or other national security threats in your workplace, it’s important to report this to ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

  1. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

If you suspect that H-1B workers or employers are engaging in illegal practices, such as manipulating hiring processes, violating labor laws, or committing immigration fraud, you must report it to the FBI. These coordinated efforts can harm the integrity of our workforce, and the FBI is equipped to investigate and bring justice to any parties involved in criminal activity.

American workers deserve fairness, respect, and opportunity. If you feel you’ve been unfairly treated because of the presence of H-1B workers, you have the right to stand up for yourself and fight for your rightful place in the workforce. Don’t stay silent—take action today, and help restore the integrity of our job market.

Various Levers for Bringing Down Corporation Like This

Need to some reach on mass scale various groups and educate them on how corporation is failing their mission, customer base, and employee wellbeing:

1) Medicare Membership — Educate on Failure to Pay Catastrophic Claims or Expensive RX
2) Employees — Layoffs on US Citizens and replacing by means of AI and Outsourcing and H1B Visas. Is it time for an Employee Union?
3) Shareholders — are executives being legal and honest and forthright in their dealings and state of the company? Is there any insider trading going on by executives? Are there stock buybacks to mislead shareholders as to the state of the company’s health?
4) Government Officials — Seeing as how Medicare is funded with tax payer dollars, reach out to Mayor, Governor, State and Federal Senators and House of Representatives.
5) Church Pastors and Church Membership — Educate them on how Humana is failing their flocks in time of need from a healthcare standpoint.
6) Local and National News Lead Reporters — as to delay and denying of claims, disgraceful large executive salaries, and major layoffs of good employees, including military veterans.
7) Better Business Bureau, AARP, etc.
8) Unions such as Teamsters — as to how start a union for nurses and other employees.
9) SEC — as to any known insider trading you may be aware of.
10) Lawyers — File lawsuits when Humana has legally wronged you by unlawful termination that you have documented.
11) ICE — report expired H1B Visas or those continuing to work well past the legal amount of time of six years in US.
12) Social Media — get the word out and shame Humana from a PR standpoint about unethical behavior of the company on twitter, facebook, reddit, facebook, tiktok, LinkedIn, etc.

99% perform basic work that does not justify H1B visa

Tech companies have loaded up on H1Bs to keep employees enslaved and threaten US citizens with constant layoffs.

Now Open AI and Anthropic will ensure these companies do not exist in future along with all the H1Bs.

H1Bs are running over each other to prove no one needs to be employed anymore as codex can do all the work.

Coding is no longer a speciality skill for which H1B visa need to be granted.

Revoke all H1B and Green card petitions immediately.

Ask Termination

FIS Managers are going to provide severance to their buddies, Then those buddies will be hired directly as consultants with FIS.

If you are not in good books with your managers, they are going to transfer you to third rated staffing company COGNIZANT. After a while, FIS will ask cognizant to replace you with low cost H1B visa holder.

Do Visa workers ever get laid off?

I've been through a few layoff cycles and I don't remember ever once an employee on a H1B visa or any other work visa getting let go. H1B visa holders are considered temporary workers. Why are full time employees let go before temporary employees? Soon all of Nike will be visa workers. The American dream is for everyone except Americans.

More layoffs coming to TCS North America

The plans are in the final stages for a MASSIVE Layoff of all H1-Bs from TCS North America. This is due to huge pressure from the Trump Admin for any and all suppliers to the US government to eliminate ALL H1-Bs from payrolls if you want to be a supplier to ANY DERIVATIVE government agency, you need to eliminate all H1-Bs from your payrolls.
That means there will be an ELIMINATION of all H1-Bs from TCS USA payrolls.
Most H1-Bs should plan on moving back to India or wherever you were sponsored from as things are about to get very ugly.
This action is due to TCS aggressively eliminating US citizens and replacing them with cheap slave labor from India or wherever they were sponsored from.
Goodbye H1-Bs, you had a good ride but it’s over now.

Layoffs Done Wrong: Losing Good Talent

To those who are feeling anxious about layoffs, I want to share my perspective after spending more than a decade at the company.

In many cases, decisions during layoffs are not purely based on performance. Managers and senior leaders often try to protect themselves using the power and influence they have, unless you happen to be very close to top leadership. At times, it becomes more about internal politics and job preservation than merit.

At the same time, no company defines your entire career. It is important not to become overly attached to any organization. Companies may make decisions that do not always reflect your value. If you are affected, focus on preparing financially, continue building your skills, and work hard to find the next opportunity.

One concern that deserves attention is when Oracle layoffs affect citizens while H1B employees are retained, even when both groups are working equally hard. If such patterns exist, they should be carefully examined by leadership and policymakers. The responsibility for these practices lies with certain managers, directors, senior directors, and VPs, not the company as a whole.

Only new visionary leadership at the top; EVPs, SVPs, and GVPs especially those with strong AI and technology perspectives, can help guide teams into the future.

Layoffs may sometimes be unavoidable, but the process must be fair, transparent, and thoughtful. Otherwise, companies risk losing talented and dedicated people who contribute greatly to their AI success.

If you are affected by layoffs, it does not mean you are not talented or that you performed poorly. As discussed above, many factors influence such decisions. You are talented, and that is why you were valued in your role.

You will find another opportunity. Take this time to relax, manage your spending, make the most of your severance, take care of your mental health, and get insurance coverage through Covered California. Use this period to upgrade your skills, especially in AI and emerging technologies.

Then start applying. The job market may take some time, but persistence pays off, and you will eventually land the right role. Stay positive, never give up, and good luck. You have got this.
