@a8 Everyone, please complain as OP suggested. I have nothing against H1-Bs personally. However Oracle or any tech company should not be laying off American citizens and keeping H1-Bs on the pay roll and then petition USCIS to hire more H1-Bs for next year and then put advertisements in Sunday newspapers to prove that Oracle cannot find qualified Americans and therefore sponsoring folks for greencard. How unfair it is. So complain complain complain
@av AGI is a pipe dream with current models. However they will continue to peddle that - call it marketing. There is more money to be made for existing billionaires.
These types of layoffs are only the begining. First H-1B's then AGI will be the downfall of the working class in America. Greedy polititians, wall street and CEOs have given their OK in this brave new world overhaul. In the end all carbon based lifeforms will be eliminated by silicon based hyper inteligence housed in humanoid robots. Man has created the catalyst for it's own obsolescence and destruction (solid state evolution). And we are the only ones to blame for allowing it.
SUbmitted:
Oracle has let go lot of US employees and Permanent residents in its layoff and has saved lots of H-1B with similar duties and positions as part of its massive RIF layoffs. It also hasn't treated US employees with respect and has sent a quick email for layoff without proper handshakes and explanation of layoff. We have several proofs of similar coding efforts done by both US residents vs H-1B candidates both performing same roles and reporting under same manager. Oracle has done this purposefully trying to save H-1B candidates fearing to save $100,000K money for hiring future H-1B's.
