In the middle of the “mother of all layoffs,” company is filing H-1B petitions saying they can’t find talent—makes perfect sense, right?

@fn Agreed. They wouldn’t have made that huge statement about 2.1B restructuring so public. Thats as clear as day for me. I couldn’t off on the figures but they’re gonna be shedding some weight. Hey! Let’s hope it’s all the wastes of time and space mgmt that have hurt Oracle for decades. Let’s hope they know those mgmt people won’t ever work hard and they need lots of bees.
@OP it is 100% TRUE it is NOT Fake news btw
GL,HF! I hope it works out for you.
AI = Actually Indian.
had thought everyone knows it already.
Instead of complaining, apply for this position internally if it advances your career. You will be rejected for sure. But when you leave or when you get fired, use it as a bargaining chip to get more severance or use it to sue. I have applied for many internal jobs over the years. I always get rejected (naturally). I have a catalog of H1-B jobs and green card jobs for which I was rejected. I am building my case to get even for all the no pay raises or the 1% percent pay raises that I am getting. This place is packed with foreigners, while American citizens are without jobs. Lawsuits are coming. I am collecting evidence.
Are all these petitions accompanied by the newly introduced $100k fee?
New batch of H1b petition filed yesterday.
This is ridiculous. It should be fair game to file complaint.
Again, none of these grifters are actually working in Oracle.
H1Bs tnever get laid off
Yes we should hire Americans first. But the reality is companies will just move the jobs to India. The US lobbying system basically ensures that there will always be legal loopholes in place for big tech companies to find the cheapest labor that can accomplish their tasks. If it's not H1B, it will be India, if not India it will be AI agents, Americans will always be the last. But that's why we love unbounded capitalism.
