HR Performance Letters

Recently a number of colleagues received performance letters that clearly state they need to be 100% for Q2 or they could be subject to termination based on their performance.

Do you think this is a way for MO to downsize the company without having to pay a severance? I don’t buy for one second that he wants to add more sales representatives. We have downsized starting all the way at the top (I.e ZVP’s/Sr. Dir) but the layoffs never really hit sales.

As a rep, it will be open territory season soon. Get your popcorn ready! I feel bad for my manager. I doubt they will backfill the positions. Managers/directors will get stuck with the quota with little to no production coming out of the territory. I am sure they will be pi---d considering they are paid based on percentage of plan.

Packaging Firms Cut Jobs, Close Plants

Packaging manufacturers are implementing significant workforce reductions and facility shutdowns. Clearwater Paper is cutting 70 positions and 50% production capacity at its Arkansas mill. Gerresheimer Glass will close its Chicago Heights plant, terminating 172 employees. Graphic Packaging International laid off over 500 staff to achieve $60 million in cost savings. Oliver, TriMas, and Veritiv Visual are also closing plants, affecting dozens more workers.

Looks like Mother Mutual is not only downsizing its company vehicle fleet, but also its executive jets.

No more Challenger 600's.

Now its down to four Gulfstream GVII (no, that's not GV eleven, Ms Ilhan Omar).

When is retaliation retaliation?!?!

With all the Risk folks getting downsized, I was wondering if anyone has experience on retaliation claims. The conduct risk person said they review claims but only a small amount are deemed true retaliation. Funny how the training we take outlines examples of retaliation but those are not retaliation when Conduct Risk investigates.

Dodging responsibility yet again like that case in the Charlotte observer.

Charlie and Bei should be ashamed of themselves. WF is Not a top 5 company for employees…

Anyone know the real numbers? I fear these numbers are artificially LOW…

Genuine question asking what COULD happen. Might sound stupid

This talk of going back everyday, it’s simply trying to downsize the firm. No way around that.

What if the Johnson Je-k Circle realizes this is a really painfully bad idea some time into 2027 when they’re already executing it. There’s a reason only certain places are executing this first.

Let’s say they finally make their alignments exactly how they want them to be organized. Be it making teams colocated, or whatever else they want to do. Then they realize “hey, some of these teams work better remote, and we’re impeding their ability to work”. Like software engineer teams. And then you have other positions who need an office to perform to the best of their ability.

The vast majority of us can say this is a grave mistake Abby is making. What if this is the mistake they need to make to realize that they need to go back to the old way, where there was more freedom for people who only had to go to the office for legitimately boosting work output?

If it took us all one year of doing this experiment, then for the overlords to get their ducks in a row… then the remainder of us who survive the layoffs could be allowed to work to the best of our ability, be it being remote or in the office if we need to be… then, maybe that’s what we just need to power through, if we have the ability to power through it.

It’ll be incredibly annoying of course, but, what if this is what it takes for them to let us go back to a work environment that’s accommodating to all of our individual needs?

BHVR - Montreal Layoffs

Behaviour Interactive has faced backlash following a recent round of layoffs that included a senior animator responsible for key work on popular Dead by Daylight characters. The timing of these staff reductions has drawn significant criticism as they occurred just one month before the game's 10th anniversary.

Key issues surrounding the situation include:

Potential Strategic Downsizing: Reports suggest the company may be conducting smaller, staggered layoff rounds to avoid the public and regulatory scrutiny that accompanies larger workforce reductions.
Corporate Expansion vs. Internal Cuts: The studio has continued to acquire other companies, such as Red Hook Studios and The Fun Pi-ps, while simultaneously reducing its own headcount, leading to questions about financial priorities.
Questionable Public Messaging: Criticism has been raised regarding the company's decision to promote a new, paid Rift Pass featuring legendary skins on the same day these layoffs were made public, highlighting a perceived disconnect between commercial activities and the treatment of employees.

Low and no raises to continue for longer

Salary treatment will continue to be targeting low to no raises. Ask your supervisor where you are within your band. Most people will receive nothing to very little as salary bands are dropping and there is downward pressure on the CL promotions and CL level assigned to roles.

For US employees - WFH means your time is coming

From a meeting today

  • if you are WFM you won't be able to move internally. All new roles are in office.

The unsaid part is also if you are WFM expect to be treated differently from now on. Less or No promotions, more scrutinized, first on the downsizing list. I think its safe to say Quiet Layoffs are in full effect. The playbook is done at every company that has done return to office.
