Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

What will RA do next to pi$$ off their customers and distributors?

RA is taking a page out of the insurance industry playbook. "delay, deny, defend", get ready for warranty claims to be rejected at a record pace. It should go over especially well with distributors who will be on the hook if they provide a replacement prematurely.

@qq But Bobby Buttermore has finally shaved his pho-hawk. Nad Becky is our Chief legal person, HR and sustainability....oh wait, that seems like a conflict. Blake might be tapping into something........

@np correct!

The organization appears top-heavy, with instances of vice president roles lacking direct reports and managers overseeing as few as one to three employees. A thoughtful consolidation of leadership layers could streamline decision-making, reduce overhead, and better align resources with operational needs.

Let’s move forward with a similar approach, but avoid having U.S.-based managers oversee teams located in India. The time zone gap creates operational inefficiencies and limits effective collaboration. Management should be aligned geographically with the teams they support to improve communication, responsiveness, and overall productivity. Maintaining U.S.-based management roles for offshore teams, particularly when compensation levels are significantly higher, does not appear to provide proportional value.
In the context of ongoing RIFs, there should be a stronger focus on reducing excess layers of middle and upper management. The organization appears top-heavy, with instances of vice president roles lacking direct reports and managers overseeing as few as one to three employees. A thoughtful consolidation of leadership layers could streamline decision-making, reduce overhead, and better align resources with operational needs. And may god save us all, because Tessa Myers being appointed CEO of Rockwell Automation would NOT be the best fit for the role. For Rockwell Automation to remain competitive and successful in the future, the company would benefit from leadership that comes from within its own ranks—particularly someone with deep experience on the hardware side of the business. Rockwell Automation is not Microsoft. Blake cannot spell P-L-C

@n1 RA is not much different from its peers…shedding off the domestic employees from high labour cost centres is a common theme everywhere. The domestic roles will be backfilled by roles in India

It's sad to see what RA has become, this didn't happen overnight. After years of head count reductions through RIF's and normal attrition without replacements, the chickens have come home to roost. It's as if RA is trying to drive away their employees and customers at the same time, which doesn't seem like a good business model, yet how can you argue with a rising stock price. Long term it doesn't seem sustainable unless their end goal is to trim to the bone in preparation of being acquired by another company, but will it be worth anything by then?

Blake has decided to offer the trump AB warranty. Charge for extended warranty and then deny every claim. Brilliant!!

@ag I have to save that one for my last email I send. I think that song and this one from the same artist pretty much sums it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE4lpSFNFUE
