What kind of cuts are we talking about?

In relation to people assuming that cuts could start toay, or at least at some point in April, I was wondering what degree of cuts are we expecting. A big wave like the last one or some layoffs in small portions throughout the company?

Some things not making sense to me about the goings on

Some things not making sense to me about the goings on. In the past we were told to keep a certain ratio of Ford employee to contractor as we would release contractors if belt needs tightening. What I have observed is Ford employees going before... — read more

The leaders simply do not know what they are doing

Most incomprehensible actions stem from incompetence. Many of my coworkers have cooked up all these conspiracy type theories to explain managements actions or inactions. Yeah of course people want to be able to explain things, but having sat through... — read more

What US plats could be in most danger?

Felt this is a logical question as there is a certainty to the fact that more changes are in store. Tried to figure out which models they want to put out of production, but still couldn’t find any pattern. I would like to get opinions on which plants... — read more

SIRP doesn’t require green stripe to go first

Looking at the latest (salaried involuntary reduction policy) it no longer states that contractor or purchased services should be let go first before a GSR, so I guess they can outsource all of the work and pay top dollar.

What’s the deal with these gradual layoffs?

I can maybe understand why they don’t want to be up-front with the workers ( not that I approve that manner) but why make it a death by a thousand cuts and have us live in uncertainty throughout the year? I don’t see any point in this. Wouldn’t it... — read more

Smart Redesign

There are a lot of unknowns, this is why Hackett call it Smart Redesign. Ford has over 11,0000 agency and purchase employees. These employees make 1.5 to 2 times the average Ford GSR employees. Some cuts needs to starts here. Ford does have too many... — read more

Management Lease Smart Redesign?

While walking through the parking lot this morning I saw two new Lincoln Navigators and one new Avaitor in the executive spots. Made me think of the amount of money that must be costing Ford while layoffs are happening or being planned. Any chance... — read more

Fundamentally flawed reDesign

Fundamentally flawed reDesign. The Big Brain did not see the root cause of Ford problems. Those who created the problem will not solve the problem just because big Jim gives them a leadership book to read. The same nonsense continues to go on decades... — read more

Mini pulse

Who saw the mini pulse survey? Who responded?

We celebrate them and their contributions silently

There are several people in the area where I work that are actively tracking and keeping a spreadsheet listing of the people who are being laid off (not for all areas - just our skill team). If its going on here, someone is tracking it in other areas... — read more

Ford/GM Merger ?

When are the layoffs going to happen?

When are the cuts going to start happening? GM did it basically all at one time. I was expecting the same for Ford. However, it seems like a trickle. Is it going to happen 2nd quarter? Is the bulk of it going to come from axing Europe? How many in... — read more

Any word on new layoffs?

Has anybody heard will there be another wave soon? Is there any indication what locations could be hit? Hard to think they will stop with these layoffs, so the fact that it has been relatively quiet these days only makes me more stressed out.
