I work in PD as a GSR. The last week has been nothing but rumors, and management has done diddle to lock it down. I was with Ford in 08 and no one knew the day, it just happened. This has been so long and drawn out that it stinks to high heaven. I can't believe they kept the LL6s in the dark for as long as they have. Standing testament to the value system of the current regime. They couldn't even do it themselves, they had to bring in some scumbag ivy league east coast consultant.
I don't disagree that the company has fat to trim, but the reality is during boom times the company squandered money on duds. I know Mullaly was the Ford savior, but less we forget both him and Fields are accountable for the current situation. Anyone remember BRIC, was going to grow the company, FALSE. Russia: corrupt with a bunch of poverty. Brazil: corrupt with a bunch of poverty. India: corrupt with a bunch of poverty. China: Dictatorship with a d---beat JV that we have to give IP and half the profit to, oh and they can seize the assets whenever they want. Chariot? The failed Google deal? ARGO? All while the company waved the white flag in markets they spent over 100 years building. Might as well kiss Europe good bye, looks like we are hitching our horse to VW scum.
Pretty ironic that Ford welcomed Toyoda to the Rouge to show them the concept of vertical integration. Nearly 80 years later and Toyota is worth more than Ford, GM, and FCA combined. It seems the common thread of the scumbag Harvard MBA has been to dismantle all semblance of vertical integration in favor of more purchasing jobs to take kick backs from d---beat/deceitful suppliers (hmm job security for scumbag Harvard MBAs?)
But as I often tell myself, my name is not on the building, the Ford family is. As long as they are happy with Jim's performance, so be it.
