Our LL5’s have their Tuesday morning booked from 6-11 as private appointments. LL6’s will be told their fait Tuesday and on Wednesday it will be the GSR’s. Personally, I feel that this will continue over the next several years on a much smaller level. My guess is that part of the redesign is to get the headcount and average age of the workforce to the down to the targets recommended by Boston Consulting Group. They were contracted to come up with a redesign of FMC for the 21st century. Best of luck to all!

I hear you -bkn. Me too. I was walking around the office the other day and felt proud of myself for the 25 I put in regardless. If tapped... vacation and do not reply.... call the un-trainable angry temp they gave me. They seem to think that is their salvation.
Will leave on good terms. Even though inside I will be fuming. Leaving the door open to come back as temp. Ford is all I know. Thought that I would retire an old man. I put my life and soul into my career at Ford. Too bad it has to end this way.
If I get canned I will laughing inside all the way out the door. I will laugh not because I want to leave. I enjoy my job, I work hard, am extremely productive. I will laugh because half of my coworkers at the same level barely put in 8 hours of work a week. I will laugh as I am doing those coworkers jobs for them because they are inept and everyone knows it, but they have a cozy relationship with some LL5+
I told my family, if Fords cans me and not the loafers and inept then that tells us everything we need to know. I can and will hold my head high as I gave 110-200% everyday, I never sabotaged a coworker, I was always respectful and helpful, I stayed true to my core values regardless of the behavior of my coworkers and leaders. If I survive the layoff and the “actual Ford values and truths” do not align with my core values, then I will find a way to remedy that situation for myself.
Oh and will I volunteer to work the rest of the month to conduct knowledge transfer to the loafers and inept? Heck no, if they are so valuable and skilled, they should already be able to do their jobs.
Will I be available for free consultations? Heck no. Fair is Fair.
20+ years with Ford and less than a year from early retirement. Hoping I don't get canned.
