I thought we'd be notified tomorrow or sometime after that if we are affected by the layoff, yet here we have a number of people who keep saying they are already packing or that they know people who already know - is this true? Have some people already been notified?

Pretty sure it all depends on your Manger. When this happened to me 15 years ago at Ford, I had a great boss who did not want to see me go. He knew I was a single Mom and the bread winner of the family. He let me know 2 weeks before hand, This is not the norm, but there are some people who have a soul and are willing to give you a heads up.
In the end, Ford s---s and people seem to forget that this is their mode of apparatus. I WOULD NEVER WORK FOR FORD AGAIN once that happened and I would defiantly NEVER BUY A FORD, or any of their stock. It is not an environment for the hard workers, but it instead a environment of who you know and your chummy Manger network. Lots of coat tail riding people there. Disgusting to see this happen over and over again.
Imagine a desk with only a screen, keyboard, mouse, and laptop/dock. Not even a phone. Feel freer?

Nobody has been notified. Tuesday is the day but I think some are just trying to get a head start and not have to linger afterward. I dont know if I am on the list but I took all my stuff home late last week, just in case. Travel light.
