GDIA needed more SRD at LL4 level, but this is Ford, and that's never going to happen

OP here, this was definitely more a political cull than one based off merit. Morale is already down in that group
Everyone will walk out. Who’d be dumb enough to stick around after knowing they’ve been fired and be humiliated. Then again they were dumb as a box to get fired from the gravy train company itself so.
They did not have boxes delivered to the offices to have people stay to the end of the month. Boxes are for the walkouts.

Choice of staying has always been dependent on the dept's risk assessment...how much access do the employees have to confidential or secret info. You will most likely not be around after Bloody Tuesday if you have access to info that could harm the company.
But too late, likely, as most interprising employees with a grudge should have already protected their interests well before now.
GDIA just promoted some people to LL5. These were LL6 from another IT area that have zero GDIA skills and marginal IT skills. Bloated and continues to Bloat.
I would not take the whole "given the offer to work until the end of May" thing as gospel. I think it's heavily dependent on the department and how much risk there is that you'll steal intellectual property. They may have also done away with that offer entirely as I've heard rumors that people were copying info from their computers before leaving.
Probably just a run of the mill firing.
All have the option to stay as part of SRD till end of May. None will unless they are clueless. You will be paid for the entire month.
Walked out? I heard that the people getting cut will have the option to work until the end of May. Can anyone confirm?
