Ford has Layoffs This week!!! GM Next Week!!! FCA well they need all they can get no lay offs!!
I'll simplify things - it's not 100% straightforward but in the nutshell:
- We are cutting globally and across groups. GM was focusing on IT in Warren and Austin. A single target, much easier to accomplish.

It is taking so long at Ford because Hackett cares about everyone. They are a family. He even said so, so it must be true.
Sorry but you are not entirely correct. More GM cuts coming in Q3. January was Wave 1. It is hell for everyone concerned.
They want to keep you here long enough to train your replacement. After all, the job is not going away.... you are.
Who wants to be a one and done kind of guy? For real though, this is the worst hell I've witnessed.... Such a poor way of doing things.
