Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford / China

I am not an ‘old timer’ (11 years with Ford) and I may be 100% off but here it goes anyway. Is it possible that Hackett & Co. know a bit more than us and are getting ready for a prolonged economic war with China – if that’s the case, I’d assume they would want to trim payroll and play defense. Not sure, but this is on my mind today. Does not justify anything, I am just trying to make sense out of the whole debacle.

I wish you all the best.

More likely because they know that the Great Recession II is coming. Plus how many people can afford a pickup or SUV without taking out a second mortgage on the house?

Forget the thoughts and prayer c-ap. We should of kept the Cold War. F selling vehicles in Russia and China. F having Chinese and Russians living in North America. Canada. Time to deport from Vancouver, and Toronto. You are just being a financial wh--e for these nations, with money laundering . You do not need to keep building Condos for these spy’s.

Maybe Ford should have admitted fault with the POS dual-clutch transmission instead of blaming their customers.....doesn't take a college degree/just common sense. How are doze Lions doing BTW? Maybe the NE Pats can help FoMoCo?

i do not think we are selling much in china. china is and always was a pipe dream. china has been winning this game due to our greed thinking we can get a share of the china pie. seriously, its china! they thank you for your participation in building their manufacturing infrastructure. goodbye. although they like getting our money so don't expect trade war to last very long. this isn't about china.

Ex GM guy here. First of all my thoughts and prayers to all of you at Ford. I think by the president trying to reverse globalization and all of the tariffs has and will deveatate our industry's here. I'm wondering how any of this is making things better and for who? I am a technician that's been laid off since December and still can't find a job , I think alot of companies are freezing all hiring and being super picky , I remember one morning walking in and overheard an executive director say , ohhhhh God China!!! That was in October of last year. Yes to answer your question , this massive cutting has everything to do with China. Don't expect them to buy our cars and trucks for much longer is my opinion. Take care to all of you at Ford motor company , I'm very sad for you guys today and our industry.
