100% sure there will be an incident in 2022

Lakeside can't do the job. The OEB must step in. We have had many close calls. If this continues we will have an incident with injuries or fatalities soon. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens before the end of Q2.

No more Tim Horton’s oh no!!! USR

No more sitting at Tim Hortons for 3 hours a day with Covid. What will Burt and Ernie do without Tim’s at Y&V?? While Lakeside takes your meters and on call….do you have no shame?

What I learned about performance ratings

Years ago I used to go the extra mile, put in the extra hours, and even earned an exceptional performance rating. My reward? a 1% merit. Then I still kept my nose to the grindstone, put in the extra effort, made significant changes to how my... — read more

Napkin math..

Enbridge profits around $500k per employee. This is almost double the average of the large North American energy corps. Last 4 quarter net income of around $6b. Around 11-12k employees.. 500k a pop. Every employee should know this number.

FLEXWORK

Shouldn’t a work program called “FlexWork” actually be flexible? Just a thought

LP STIP

That LP STIP email this afternoon was absolute dog s-h-i-t. I don’t know what LP has to do to get a decent stip rating but that’s ridiculous.

There's a good reason for current attrition

The attrition is worse than it has ever been for a very good reason. Enbridge has turned into a dysfunctional mess where the lazy get ahead and hard workers get the shaft. Anybody who can find a new job has already found it or is busy looking. I... — read more

Nepotism

Nepotism has become very apparent at Enbridge. When I see what is happening and how some candidates are being picked, it seems to me that all my efforts are in vain. Very demotivating! However, I do not believe that the situation in other companies... — read more

Incompetent middle management

I was at Enbridge 5 years. I believe that was too long. In those 5 years, I completed some of the most challenging and high impact projects, but when it came to advancement opportunities, I watched how middle management chose candidates based on... — read more

What is Customer Attachment/Connections’ Future?

Enbridge announce they were centralizing the clerks and coordinators to the TOC in early 2022. Very sad for many people in the regions. They have been outsourcing unionize LEG Field Rep work to an outside contractor. They claim it’s to help with... — read more

The worst mistake is to stay here too long

If I could turn back time, I would never stay here longer than a year. That is enough even for the most sceptical ones to realize that this is not a company for them, if they had any talent, will to learn and wanted to progress and be valued. I... — read more

Considering an IT position…

I’m considering an IT position at Enbridge. What is IT like there? Interested in opinions from people that have worked at other companies before Enbridge, especially Oil & Gas majors and smaller Midstream players.

I can't say much good about Enbridge

No matter how hard I try and try, I can no longer find any good things to say to someone considering looking for a job here. My opinion is that this is no longer a place to gain initial experience, because new hires can only create aversion to their... — read more

I did two months ago and I'm so much happier now. You don't realize how bad the situation really is until you start working somewhere else and you start noticing that the things you had accepted as normal (like verbally abusive managers) are not the... — read more

Employee ratings

How true is that people leaders have to rate employees? A colleague mentioned and it determines who gets selected for promotion and maybe layoffs.

OK, certainly that HR exists there to protect the interests of the company, and less to protect the employees, however, how do they protect the interests of the company if they do not protect their best employees in any way? I pretty much knew that... — read more

Bitter truth

All leadership cares about is the value of our stock price. This is a business and the business DOES NOT CARE about people. Everyone is here for the same reason - To make money. That is the only motivating factor here. People’s work will continue to... — read more

Why? Why is that?

Why do they always promote people whose position greatly exceeds their capacities? Rare are those who are promoted and really deserve it. Are they afraid of more competent people in higher positions or what? I get the impression that they are... — read more

Learn and grow: your experiences?

Of course, I didn't think this was the best of all companies, but I thought I would be able to learn a lot more stuff here than I've learned in the last year and a half since I came here. Enbridge is one big disappointment.

There is a reason for that

There is a reason why there are more bullys in some companies (as is the case in Enbridge) and fewer in others. This is not because a company mysteriously brings together people of a similar character and behavioral patterns, but it is because the... — read more

Why is it that the big (and little) boys at Enbridge continue treat women so poorly? Despite everything we’ve been through. I guess it’s because they can. No one stops them.
