Isn’t it sad what Enbridge is doing to attract and retain talent, especially when compared to what competitors are doing?
I sometimes wonder how Enbridge even manages to attract anyone talented here.

They only allowed so many people to leave voluntarily. There was a long list of people who applied and were denied. I will say that not everybody wanted out. I didn’t apply and I know a lot of others who didn’t but I work with several who didn’t get picked out of the “random hat draw” and are still bitter about it.
Arguing about it is irrelevant though. Time will tell. Until then it’s just a guessing game how this company and many others will fare.
"You think ENB will somehow be immune to the consequences of the great resignation?"
Perhaps not. But their moat is wider than you think.
The great resignation was well underway when Enbridge offered the voluntary exists two years ago (with very generous terms, I might add). And while a bunch of people took the offer, a whole lot more did not. There can't be a better test than that.
There is no denying ENB pays a decent salary. The issue is that in the current job market people are jumping ship for more money in droves. ENB is slow to act and slow to adapt to just about anything and everything. The drain of talent is inevitable if they don't act quickly to do something for retention. Acting quickly isn't in their wheelhouse so I suppose I'll just grab the popcorn and watch the middle managers panic and cry while their workforce is slowly drained.
'mass resignations' is EXACTLY whats happening.. has there ever been a period of history widely referred to as 'the great resignation'?
Man some people need to get their head out of a ho-e. I feel like a lot of UTTERLY redundant middle managers come on here to glimpse at how fu---d they are.

"How do you pay for a water bill? A hydro bill? A grocery bill? A gas bill? With benefits!?"
No... you pay for those things from your nice salary. If you're implying you don't make enough to properly pay for subsistence living, I'm calling you a liar.
I'm saying the benefits have real, tangible dollar values.
Ultimately the only measure of truth in the prediction would be mass resignations. However, this same chatter has been happening for a decade, and so far every dire prediction of such has failed to materialize.
It's a nice, easy prediction to make though. As long as you're wrong - which so far is all the time - the answer is, "It'll happen soon!"
It's like predicting the end of the world. Every single person who ever did so turned out to be wrong. Someday, though, one person probably gets to be right.
How do you pay for a water bill? A hydro bill? A grocery bill? A gas bill? With benefits!?
WTF are you smoking? Yes health benefits are nice. But at the level enb is operating, everyone gives you health benefits.. AND MORE MONEY. ENB expects people to stay for the culture and the industry standard benefits they offer? When others are offering the same and higher pay?
The company will evaporate if they don't up their game to retain talent. Now that bonuses are out and raises are weak, I'd guess the majority of skilled valuable workers are looking for more money elsewhere. And more money is out there. A lot of opportunities.
"CANT PAY BILLS WITH CULTURE AND BENEFITS LADY."
Ummm... yes. Yes you can. And you do. Price out an equivalent health benefits plan including insurance.
You could go without, but most people - especially those with children - recognize how much that is worth.
Avoid Pembina. Dollar store company that subscribes to the same regressive cultural philosophy as Enbridge but is somehow even worse.
Come on give your head a shake. No company is giving raises to employees to help them offset inflation.
When asked what they will do to compensate employees in the face of record inflation.. they basically said 'people should appreciate the amazing culture and benefits and opportunities you get from working here.'
AhahahahahahahaAHAHAHAHAH
CANT PAY BILLS WITH CULTURE AND BENEFITS LADY. WE NEED MO MONEY OR WE GONE
Like what, for instance? Be specific.
