Reporting a problem to HR

I never thought it would happen to me to become the target of a workplace bully, but for months now I’ve had to deal with a bully here.

I was thinking of staying at ENB for a while, but I prioritized looking for a new job instead, because it seems to me that it is futile to try to solve this issue by reporting it to HR?

HR exists to protect the company, not employees. They aren’t going protect you, they protect the company by getting rid of you, never admit a manager did something wrong, and will forever taint any ambitions you ever have within the company.

Another dirty trick they use is the "performance improvement plan". A contract that is signed and agreed upon by the staff member, manager, and HR. It contains objectives that are by design wholly unattainable in the specified timeframe. They use that to get you out and even if you meet them, the work will not be to their standard which is BS. If you ever get a PIP, mail it in and start tuning up your resume while they are still paying you.

The ethics line is not what is advertised. It’s outsourced to a company which has minimal skills to takedown your report correctly. It’s. Not anonymous and used against victims in EEOC complaints and court proceedings. The representative stated it’s the same line used by customers to report issues on the line or services. Your report is documented and picked apart after it’s sent to HR and Legal. Your report will be altered to reflect holes in your story. Telling you from firsthand and secondhand experience.

I was terminated after trying to have a meeting with HR. The matter will get worse once your manager gets whiff of anything. Their performance review might be effected. HR will cover themselves by interviewing your manager and colleagues. They will use something else as an excuse to terminate or pick you in the next layoff. They will allow time to pass before actioning anything. This protects them from liability against EEOC claims. I recommend you to digitally save any emails and print them. Store them at home. Use your phone and start record anything. After having proof, your case will be stronger after filing a charge with the EEOC. Do this discreetly after carefully wording an email to your manager and HR. Start looking for another job in the meantime. Enbridge knows how to manipulate your report and prepare a defense that demonizes you. It’s a common problem with this company. Enbridge has a history of labor violations and discrimination. Anyone commenting against this doesn’t have first hand experience or hasn’t witness this happen to several people. The Houston location is full of racist bullies. Google “Enbridge labor violations” , “Spectra labor violations” , “Enbridge unpaid overtime class action” , and “Environmental violations”

There is a company out of Utah (I believe) who specialize in online character as----------n. As long as everything you tell them is true (you sign off on everything) and if anything is your opinion it will be stated as such. They SEO the heck out of it and post everywhere. Link to the persons Linkedin, socials. Google them.

I feel HR looking after their own interests and the careers of bullies is far more unethical. What goes around comes around.. literally.

When the economy is bad, the natural company response is to increase revenue or cut costs. The only way to increase revenue is to get the optimal performance out of your assets. The only group that is equipped to do this asset Performance.

To the person who said that layoffs or voluntary packages are coming before 2024, how do you know that?
The economy is going to he-l but that doesn’t guarantee layoffs are coming.

Do Not go to HR or ever tell your poople leader, just be nice and get the heck out of that department, even if it is lateral move or slightly lower. It is not a democracy.

Layoffs or voluntary packages are coming before 2024,
just so you know

Do NOT let these bullies on here keep you from putting the bully at work in their place. It wouldn't surprise me if one of these people are your bully in the first place. Just my $.02

Never go to Enbridge HR, I went asking for help against a racist bully and the lady said “ well, maybe that’s your perception “, which was an incredibly damaging and toxic thing to do to someone who was vulnerable. I have felt targeted ever since. Enbridge HR are toxic bullies . You have been warned.

No, HR will not do anything. It will blow up in your face.

If the person is in any position of power or influence... good luck. That is a strike against you and HR will be almost certainly be leaky and fill the person in (especially if HR can advance their relationship with said person). I would simply tamper with their lunches, coffee, etc. while looking for a new job. Or create fake social media profiles and post questionable things hoping Google will pick up on it and list it as a result if someone ever searches their name.... I've said too much. Covert warfare.
