999 strike started today which put a lot of non-union employees back in the plants. I’d love to go back to my position asap, but the unionized workers can hold out for a long time. These shift workers of 999 have had the flexibility to work other jobs. The turnout on the picket lines is low because they mostly have other jobs to go to. This is a nightmare, I guess I’ll just keep working 12hr shifts and tow the line.

How much will we get for inflation and cost of living increases next year 4 or 5 %
Start asking around work get some pressure on them.
Enbridge - Work more, Pay Less
I remember when I was salaried for 37.5 hr work week and they changed us to a 40hr work week with no change in salary
I figure that is a 6.25% cut
Enbridge, and the majority of all capitalist mega corporations.. are motivated by money. That's it. Nothing else matters, so long as whatever they do results in more money for them and their shareholders.
This system is beginning to crack, and this strike will be the first of many. People are starting to see the greed that has been behind the scenes this entire time.
Enbridge, the most valuable of the seven by market capitalization, also has the highest-paid chief executive officer, Al Monaco. He made $19.03-million in 2021, up 11.6 per cent from $17.05-million in 2020.
Dear Employees,
WE care about you, or at least we want you to think that WE do.
Already so far this year WE have made a few billion and WE have decided to share it only with our share holders.
WE thank you for the hard work and dedication you give to increase our share price at the expense of cutting your pension, benefits and of course safety
As WE cut 3% from all of your wages, please search on elink and you will find the top of us at the company have given ourselves double digit raises over the past several years. WE thank you, WE need more.
WE have been doing layoffs, but in smaller groups to avoid panic and stay under the radar as WE continue to outsource as much as WE can to drive up our profits.
WE strive to out source as much as WE can, this will continue until all passion and morale is gone. WE know its low, but WE can go even lower.
"So during the strike no threats or no harassment is permitted. But it is alright to threaten or harass workers at all other times??"
Well, if you have evidence of that happening, I'd strongly advise you to pursue it legally. However, put up or shut up, as they say.
And I guarantee you any internal "threats or harassment" doesn't rise to the level that unions would prefer to wield against "scabs".
Hey Enbridge company
You have accomplished one thing.
Have shown many to all of us that your corporate profits margin means more than the people that help you make it.
We will remember this for a very very long time.
Bank on that !
I am curious about the May 29 email from MH regarding the Unifor Local 999 strike. "You have the right to unimpeded work free of threats or harassment." So during the strike no threats or no harassment is permitted. But it is alright to threaten or harass workers at all other times??
If you have an issue with this strike, you're a part of the problem.. Not every union or union action is perfect, but I know for certain that being in a union is the better option.
Workers advocating for more of ANYTHING from a capitalist mega corporation like ENB is good for all workers. Its time to start holding these corporate overlords accountable and demanding more from them. Better pay. Better flexibility. More respect.
Yeah - scabs on their knees level failure.
Enbridge company reps failed miserably
