First strike since the 1970s on Union Gas sites is now inevitable. STO Local 999 lockout/strike starts on the 25th May. Enbridge is shutting down construction and integrity jobs, bringing in ‘scab’ labour all to prove a point.

The district unions vote next week. If they join the strike, it’s going to get very ugly and very public. Union Gas anyone?

They managed to cut that back too (5% down to 2.5%), just like our pensions and benefits that were also cut.

- 76%? I don’t think that’s even right based on government numbers and you know those are a mile off (1.6 kilometers if you’re from up north). I’d say more like mid teens possibly low 20s.
What’s inflation now… 6.7% ???? Half the pension’s purchasing power will be wiped out 6 years into retirement.
