How is this project? Seems quite small (only 75K-bbl/day) How was the execution? I didn’t see any cost escalation in the quarterly reports, was it hidden away?

Anything related to the center, drop it here. This should be interesting.

HR changes

Any other changes you’d expect to see in next few months with HR?

Layoffs are inevitable

I hope all of you are preparing for that certainty and not just hoping for the best.

Condition of the WCs

The conditions of the WCs is a tale tale sign of how the morale of a company is doing. The WCs seem to be wrecked and falling apart. We really need to get the BE in chief out of here.

SR to Houston, No severance package.

What's the over/under that many in SR will accept the "job offer" but never move? Will that give them about an extra year or so to skill up and look for another job? Does CVX put any contingencies into these offers to keep this from happening?

Trim the Fat

Call out any deadweight you want to see go.

OPG ROM?

What’s all this about the brass announcing an OPG ROM verbally at the SR town hall ?

SR Townhall was a dumpster fire

Very limited space so vast majority couldn’t attend. Teams invite/meeting didn’t work for first 20 minutes and crashed. Audio beyond poor, couldn’t hear what was being said. What a train wreck.

We are bad at A LOT of things

We don’t hold anyone accountable to their “deliverables.” From the field all the way to upper level management. Instead let’s use this woke feel-good bandaid called Human Performance and say it’s the system because be don’t want to upset anyone... — read more

Dividends and share buybacks

“Chevron Sent Shareholders $50 Billion Over the Last 2 Years (and There's a Lot More to Come)” How much was spent on exploration/building future reserves?

Reorg/layoffs are just a quick fix

Unless they are done strategically by competent people who know what they are doing. I can’t remember when was the last time I saw such top manager or heard of one. Whatever comes next must be strategically done by mgmt who has vision grounded in... — read more

What Are We Bad At?

First, this is not a "layoff" or "I dont want to go to the office" post. This is a post that hopefully some upper mgmt reads aside from some bi-annual or culture survey. For years now, the mantra has been we have to compete with our competitors... — read more

Move to Houston or Leave & No Severance

Way to deliver a giant f*** you to San Ramon employees! I do not trust ANYTHING that comes out of MW’s mouth at this point. True Chevron leaders like Ken Derr or DJO are a thing of the past. It’s not for me to judge you. I can only hope that karma... — read more

Any hope?

Is there any thing that beings you hope? Any chance that we are able to end the year better than we are right now? Or is there any hope that cvx will end 2025 better?

new news about the bad news

At least MKW delivered this 1st round of bad news himself. With PB gone, didn't have him to throw under the bus. . . way to 'be a man' MKW. Ok, next round of crazy - on or around 8/12, might be: Death of hybrid. This is short-term thinking... — read more

We're losing too many good employees

Too many people with experience and valuable knowledge are going to our competition because they're getting better offers. I'm yet to hear about any of them getting a counteroffer once they give their notice. Does this leadership really think we can... — read more

Transform To Lose

2020 was the year that destroyed Chevron. The cuts were far too deep and destructive. I don't think MW has learned from that. You can layoff to win!

Say bye to hybrid?

With all the blood baths today I cannot help but think hybrid is gone. I know many hate RM but she did give us hybrid. Now she is gone so MW and MN arent gonna take it.

Bad numbers today

We can celebrate people in leadership being punished all we want. But we know we are going to pay the price for all bad decisions and incompetent management. Reorg, layoffs and other cost cutting which will impact us are coming. And we can only... — read more

Time for MW to go!

Hes destroyed chevron with all his extreme cuts and layoff obsession. Need someone with a heart as CEO if that exists now days!

RM to the history trash bin

Finally, some common sense prevails. Unfortunately, this realization comes a bit too late, but better late than never. The destruction caused by RM incompetence and social engineering agenda is irreversible, and it will take decades to recover, if... — read more

A Bit of Good News

On a day like today, let’s celebrate this bit of good news: we are finally getting rid of our Oprah wannabe

MW feeling the heat?

With the sudden “retirements”, move, etc seems like maybe the board told Mikey to get his act together…DO BETTER

Houston

People from Houston, what do you like and dislike about living there. Let's say I have to move there from NorCal, what would you tell me.

Another Downstreamer in charge of Upstream

I know he’s just there to swing the Axe for Mike, but still need to run the business in the meantime in what needs to be a critical time for exploration success. Can’t have anymore short term margins thinking.

Major Question

What will MW do with his prized California boxed seats? Will he still use them or use the boxes in Houston? He won't be able to give up luxury.

Earnings call

What a disaster performance, ExxonMobil earning is up 17% and we are down, that sets the stage for yet another horrible CIP and justification on another huge re-org and layoffs. Good luck to all, it is always working bees that will be thrown under... — read more
