What the he-l was the point of separating IT from CTC only to put it back again less than a year later?

Can someone honestly explain the logic?

Come on…….this company always shuffles things around during “major” succession planning to justify to the BOD the “broadening” of leadership experience and associated PSGs. This is always a sure sign……..

To justify c-suite pay levels they have to shuffle the reporting responsibilities. It really doesn’t matter to the regular level cogs

The logic is really easy to understand. Original move was all agreed upon with the old CIO staying in place. That changed, so new regime (even before fully taking over) made the change they preferred. Simple as.

The Chevron way refers to job protection through the creation and defence of little empires. Activity, as opposed to productive work, is one of the best ways to achieve this aim.

You’d have to ask whatever management consulting company told them to do it. Probably the same ones that foisted the chapter model on IT, laughing all the way to the bank.
