Everyone knows the oil business is cyclical. Couldn't Noble's management have ridden out the low prices for a few more months? Unbelievable.

Talk about completely missing the market and selling out at the absolute bottom.

Oil hit a five year high. Since Noble was sold, the price of oil has consistently gone up. They ran the divestiture price file at $50 flat. In order to make money you buy low and sell high, not vice versa. Terrible business decision.

The price of oil keeps going up. Natural gas is almost $6. Hindsight being 20/20 shows the selling of Noble Energy was the worst decision anyone could have made, unless you were able to personally profit from the deal.
