Probably too early to tell, but any thoughts on the new (reduced) HRLT?

@defu, they shouldn't push those like you either.
Never push a loyal person to the point they don’t care anymore…
LD is toxic for function.
it’s getting caddy
It’s concerning. I think they need to put some retention hooks on the sound minded ones. Curious who is getting promoted during all this..
No bueno. New LT super cliquey. Have their favorites.
The new HRLT members love the managed move process versus posting jobs, they operate silently, and they are not visible especially in this time of change. #HRBestPractice
JC is a travesty…….once again, CVX promotes someone that has to be moved b/c they fail to exit when they should. When the packages come out next year, he will go then……milk it…….and our TSR su-ks…….
Why is SE / HR AI out?
While I understand some of the dynamics behind why SE (leading HR AI & Change for last year) is no longer going to be at Chevron, I think the fact that there was zero announcement that her organization is being dissolved and that she will be leaving the HRLT (and being push out of Chevron) is without dignity that I would expect at CVX.
My thoughts on the new HRLT are the same as the old HRLT. HR is just a group of overpaid admins that don’t add any value to the business.
When CR was there, the sponsor group helped BUs and provided talent that BUs needed. Since JC came, he usurped the system, gave a big middle finger to BUs and started promoting people he likes. He broke the system and now the system needs to be retired together with him and his sponsor lackeys. Thanks, John!
These sponsors are master excel users. No need for high psgs to operate spreadsheets and hit next bottom on ppts....
Totally agree with the comment on sponsor group. This is a non standard process (industry, talent management process) and costs Chevron dearly. Highly paid people that usually d o not know well those they represent at PDCs. I had first hand experience as a manager of being excluded from the process except for what employees would share dire tly. I have that feedback to the sponsor which was ignored. Time to try a new approach and save money!
smaller on top = smaller on bottom
It's the exact same people for the past 10 years. Why would we think that anything would change?
We just know who MGs favorites are.
I will support her if she addresses the sponsor group. They have no checks and balances and they are deciding careers of people. They promote themselves and punish those whom they don't like. Feels a little like north Korean regime.
RM minions know that this board is what exposed the outgoing disaster
Chevron fired her because of her disastrous incompetence. Now they are trying to taint MG so she fails
She is classy, refraining from any public self promotion and focused on the big job in hand to clean CVX HR and may be save the company.
She have not even updated her LinkedIn profile unlike the outgoing disaster Operah wannabe who was living there.
Let her clean the house.
I have never seen as many HR posts here instigated by HR as the last few weeks then the board decided to take the trash can out.
Leave MG alone
I am pretty sure MG is writing to herself on this board here.pp
MG , chill.
You made it as high as you can make it in this company.
Relax and do the right things.
Don't create fake threads and fake responses. Be better than that
Well said. I don’t consider us immune from needing to make some deep cuts, but I’m concerned bout the unintended consequences.
If you believe MG will do anything beyond cutting costs, you're mistaken. With LD leading under the consolidated organization, deeper cuts are inevitable. The department remains costly due to the number of senior HR leaders. Despite MG, it's still the same team in charge, and most of the males and fresh voices have been removed. Long-term, HR is heading in a concerning direction.
No doubt, mg will get stuff done. I’m just concerned the LT will lose all decency. I get we need to trim fat, but you can do that AMD treat people with decency. We will need some ppl to stay and do HR regardless of how much we cut.
Anything is better than what we had
We had HR team that was bringing the business down. It can never be any worse from what we had before
We will wait and see the final headcount.MG mentioned that we are 125% higher in cost than the most expensive HR in our industry.
If she cuts more than 50% then we know this was the right change as they will stop doing business with themselves and focus on supporting the core business
If she cuts more than 75% then she is golden to yield better results with a more focused team that us cost effective and laser focus on the core business
Again she js more classy and way smarter than. RM so I am very optimistic
I’m worried. They play favorites and don’t hide it.
So happy that JC is not there. He is so stupid. Have you ever talked to him? It's so surprising that you can be that stupid and be in charge of people 's careers and business outcomes...
