MW's Failure

In 2020 we had the Winning in Any Environment layoff event. Since we are now laying off again it is obvious we lost in every environment. That falls on our leader MW's shoulders. We have lost the stated Chevron Way because of MW. We have little... — read more

Preference for Houston vs San Ramon

Do you think Houston based employees will be preferred over San Ramon for a position if qualifications are the same? Do we think CVX will be willing to pay for SR people moves? This is so stressful, I just wish they would have announced the lower... — read more

Don't relocate for Chevron

Relocating for Chevron might be the biggest mistake you could make in your career - even if they’re offering you a promotion. Think about it, you’d be uprooting your family and likely burning through a big chunk of your savings, all for a job that... — read more

Please stop posting CVX benefits info

If the information is on an internal website, mention that. All you are doing by giving details here is telling other companies how low they can make offers to Chevron employees they want to hire. I want to negotiate with companies without them... — read more

Chevron Singapore

Chevron Singapore has been hiring aggressively in the past couple years, taking experienced hires from shell/Exxon and other O&G companies. Any insights on the impact/cut targets for Chevron SG?

ABU - Australia

What is the latest for ABU? I have been off on holidays... Whats the the word at Elizabeth Quay?

Layoff priority.

They should start with the work from home crowd. Those are the most expendable as evidenced by their lack of work ethic.

Severance package

After seeing what Trump did for federal workers, MW should up the package. Who would’ve guessed that the DOGE package would be better than CVX. I knew that I should’ve taken that job with BLM.

Who decides our fates?

This is my 1st re-org at Chevron. Who will be deciding my fate? Is it my boss? Or is it the PDRs?

Hess

It would be interesting to hear what the integration teams are telling Hess employees these days

Grass, Sometimes, IS Greener

I left Chevron a few months ago. I was miserable. I had a similar story to many of you - pi---d off at how my career was handled despite multiple EEs several years in a row with stellar 360 feedback in a high visibility position. Instead of... — read more

Union Chevron Oronite

I have been cut three times. I would love to take a retirement package to get out. I’m in the union and we cannot take the salary package, from what I’m told. The union buyout program is not very good.

EOI & Relocation

Anyone else notice in the EOI terms that if you’re offered a job that requires relocation, and decline, no severance…? If I’m in San Ramon I’d hit the AEOI button now as hard as I can.

Scope

They keep saying they will notify those who will be in scope for layoffs. In this case, who wouldn't be in scope???

We need DOGE 2025

It would be interesting to see a “DOGE” style audit of DEI spending and hiring practices. I remember the first time I heard that years of experience does not matter from a manager prior to the 2020 selection process. A lot of brainwashing in my... — read more

How much are they really saving?

From offshoring to Manila, Buenos Aires and Bengaluru? Doesn't Chevron waste tens of billions of dollars in upstream exploration projects? Isn't that a executive failure that MCP projects go over budget and delays? Why does the axe fall on low level... — read more

Top question was “Future of DEI”

You have to be kidding me. They are announcing layoffs and we are to believe the most asked question was about the future of DEI? Grow a pair and dump it. Get back to the base business of oil production. If all you care about is being protected... — read more

The dram queens are out in droves

This is but a normal and very predictable cycle in the oil industry. Y’all worried about your cushy jobs should have prepared better.

So this is what it feels like

The end of big oil. Chevron on a glide path to being out of business in 10-15 years. Spinning off oodles of cash as it slowly sinks below the waves.

What changed in the new org?

Looks like the same number of VPs reporting to MW. the boxes underneath shifted. What’s really changed that’s going to accelerate CVX?
