I got an offer in a month

I’ve never found a new job this fast before. I really didn't expect the offer to arrive this quickly. Admittedly, I also tried harder with searching than ever. Looks like now is the best time to get out of here? Anyone who wants a change, maybe... — read more

I'm afraid to think what it will all look like

All this with the pandemic has been going on for too long and everyone is under enormous stress. Everyone would love that all of this was just a bad dream.. I'm afraid what it will look like to work in this company after many people leave? And... — read more

This was considered a prestigious job once

People wanted to work at Seagate. Working here meant good pay and good benefits with a chance to progress. All of that has changed, so hiring anybody with any other options is impossible today. The only ones who are applying are people fresh out of... — read more

A lot of people are leaving

I thought it was all just a lot of talk, but there seem to be a lot of those leaving before December. I thought that there aren't many options for those who do not want to take a jab. Judging by the number of colleagues who are leaving just for this... — read more

Vaccine Mandate announced

A US employee wide vaccine mandate was announced today. Final deadline is early december. No testing alternative and it applies to remote workers as well as those onsite. No jab no job. FYI to anyone who cares, either side. Specific company info... — read more

Attrition is a problem

I'm not sure why nothing is being done about attrition. We are losing some (more like most) of our best to our competitors and nobody is doing anything to reverse this trend. This can keep happening only for so long before the effects are felt in the... — read more

Incompetent but polite

When I tried to give my best, I was overwhelmed with work and daily on the verge of burnout. Suddenly everything is better ever since I stopped being one of those who try to know as much as possible. If you don't want to be overwhelmed with work... — read more

Could Seagate have retained its relevance?

I started working here when this company still had quite a bit of relevance. I know some great people who wanted to get a job here at the time and failed. What happened in the meantime is still not clear to me but now no one with high potential wants... — read more

Why is STX losing market share?

Looking at the latest trendfocus data summary and WD has caught STX. STX had a solid 5 to 8 point share lead. What is happening in the market?

HDD End in Data Center

I hear from my data center friends that as HDD gets bigger the IOPS get lower and are unusable for cloud providers. Even with dual actuator it only gets HDD to 2025. Is this true?

Calm before the storm?

Has anyone heard of any new rumors about cuts? I may be wrong, but to me it seems like calm before the storm.

Do you have a BS job at STX?

I saw this video and it reminded me of the many BS jobs around STX, including mine. The perfect example that is mentioned often is the Business Excellence department and its multiple VPs and Directors. How do we trade engineering, that can... — read more

Is HAMR ever going to happen ? Are the guys in SRG ever going to own up to their uselessness ?

Seagate Is The Best

Everyone is looking forward for the severance package (SP) and this is the main mentality across from boss, peers and colleagues working in Seagate. No one talks about work just focused on money. Of course, money always win!!!! If no SP, carry on... — read more

I don't respect anybody here anymore

How many of your colleagues have left lately?

Never in a short period of time did more of my colleagues leave Seagate. I’m not at all surprised because people don’t leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses and poor management who don’t appreciate their value. Unless something changes in the... — read more

Have all chances been missed?

There were a few chances in the past to branch out but those ships have sailed long ago and Seagate is now a tanker loaded up with debt. The chances I'm speaking of were to merge with a NAND chip maker, and/ or become a mass storage warehouse... — read more

Where is this company headed?

Age-related job-finding issues
