It's become very difficult to finish work. The reason: a huge number of people leaving!
I don't know how attrition affects your work (?), but for me it's pretty chaotic. After two close colleagues abruptly left, another important team member gave notice yesterday.

The company and it's government allies seem focused on making it difficult for anybody to get work done or earn a living. What's next, mandating that all employees must drive to work in an electric car or be considered voluntarily terminated? Don't think it can't happen. I'm sure many products of our school systems would support it. OSHA can classify gas cars as environmental workplace hazards. Do you really think this power to force people to do things is going to be just left on the shelf for long after this vax mandate overreach? It might get to the point where you get a fa-t emission tax as detected by your office chair's sensors.
If people are at a tipping point and one of their coworkers leaves, the combination of the additional work and once less contact at work they enjoyed having around can certainly tip the scale.
No surprise if having the minimum number of people around is status quo then one leaves that the burden becomes more than anyone wants to deal with. Especially in cases where they don't plan on replacing the person that left...
