SRG is a classic bu-----t group. Not just HAMR, most projects there are are bad. Leadership is a clueless group of old HDD hags without any real world innovation or scale up experience !

DNA? Lidar? Everyone else is doing Lidar and they are probably light years ahead but whatever. I guess same incredible strategy for SSD or Systems at work.

DNA is 15 years away. STX will be long gone by then.

SRG will fail with DNA and Lidar just as they did HAMR.

HAMR works. It just doesn't scale into volume products with a way lower contam control than our awesome lab samples. The reli is just not there.

You forget the first rule of HAMR. It's always set to ramp up 3 years out.

Mosely has decided HAMR can only be released on a day that doesn't end in a 'y'

No, as people like me were saying for 10 years to the cacophony of people saying it’s ready ever one of those years

HAMR will be pushed off for development and/or cost reduction until rotating storage is irrelevant. Don't wait up for the announcement.
