cameron resurrecting

few years ago Cameron was merged with SLB and due to some legal issues in certain countries, and due to this reason the merger might be null and void and that means Cameron is resurrecting in June 2023. Welcome Cameron Back, SLB go back

Pushing out the over 50s

seems they want to get rid of long time workers over 50 one by one so doesn't look like layoffs. rumor is that's happening at several locations. my colleague told by boss he was over the hill & that new workers being hired to replace him & that his... — read more

Burning myself out for nothing

It's not that some colleagues with more experience didn't warn me, but now I've definitely convinced myself that it's almost impossible to move up here for most of us, no matter how much effort people put in. I'm totally exhausted and now I see... — read more

Growth offshore

The CEO said he sees the offshore oil sector as a major driver of growth, anticipating 50% growth in offshore investment over the next four years compared to the 2016-19 period. This is an excerpt from a slightly older article... — read more

Going to a smaller company

I think it would feel very odd to go to a smaller company after so many years here, but there are many who say they are very happy after just such a decision. I still find it hard to believe that smaller companies offer better benefits than here... — read more

Hiring challenges

I am still doing the work of colleagues who left a while ago. The company replaced them with new hires who, in my opinion, are not at all competent for those roles. So I'm wondering, is SLB having hiring issues? Can they not find adequate... — read more

How much salary rise of your location?

There is a salary rise from this June for some employees of every location, and, indeed, all the sales guys get this benefit, how about the other people and how much percentage?

Former HTX SLB, is your new company better?

To those in the Houston area that left or were let go: Is your new company better? Care to share company names? As frustrated as I am, everyone I know is dealing with same sh*t in a new box.

SLP-3 time

How’s that working out for everyone? Happy?, or shafted?

Oil and Gaslit

Would anyone here be interested in reading my Wordpress blog on the ramifications of SLB’s false layoff narratives against wrongfully terminated employees during Covid in 2020? Just curious as to how many of you were (as their attorney denies it... — read more

Meeting objectives

It has become so stressful to work here. Although I have many years of experience, I'm starting to feel like I don't know how to do my job properly at all. Let's have a sincere discussion about this: has meeting objectives become more difficult for... — read more

What convinced you that it's not worth working hard?

In fact, the most important thing is to work smart, not hard, that is, do the best you can without straining yourself too much, or just enough so the manager gets the impression that you are putting in a real effort. It’s ugly, but I notice that all... — read more

Schlumberger is not the worst

I worked at several companies that were worse than Schlumberger. It's not an ideal workplace, but at least I'm not expected to be on call 24/7 by my manager and I don't have to navigate a work culture that promotes backstabbing to advance your... — read more

Have you ever felt valued in this company?

Suddenly everyone is talking about not being valued. I don't have that feeling because I've never asked for anything more than pay. My question is: have you ever felt valued here?

Where's my watch?

Has anyone else had difficulty in getting their 20 years service award watch? Mine is already a year overdue and HR seems to have run out of excuses.

They're not even trying to hide it anymore

Think about this, how many PIPs do you know in the last 12 months that were given to people who were bad performers? Now think about how many made you do a double-take because they made absolutely no sense at all? They're now just using PIPs to get... — read more

Adapt to survive

The company couldn’t influence the changes that have taken place in the industry, but I think it could have better adapted to a low-carbon era. Perhaps Schlumberger could better navigate the energy transition?

How is SAP doing?

I left SLB last year during layoffs. Heard from current inmates at SLB that SAP X2 went live which is so bad in UK that one of the Product Centre will be closed if they don't get their act together. Is this true?

Everyone should take responsibility for themselves

I stumbled upon this forum by chance and the amount of negativity here is amazing. I agree with some posts I’ve read that some things here aren’t really good, but c’mon, it’s not all that bad either. If Schlumberger was the only company I ever... — read more

Should I Sue SLB: fire me before joining

Last year got an offer from SLB. Background check, dr-g test all passed. Instructed by SLB HR, I gave my previous employer a 2-week notice. Right before the start date, SLB notified me they rescinded the offer. I was left unemployed.

Career advancement

In my case there has been no career progression for a long time so now I'm considering leaving. I tried but I didn’t achieve anything significant here and I don’t believe the problem was in me anymore. Honestly, how much were you able to grow a... — read more
