Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Meeting objectives

It has become so stressful to work here. Although I have many years of experience, I'm starting to feel like I don't know how to do my job properly at all. Let's have a sincere discussion about this: has meeting objectives become more difficult for you and why?

SLP3 & SAP are the two biggest comedy shows at Schlumberger but sadly the management are unwilling or unable to admit it. It's all about not rocking the boat.

I had a great boss when I work IM back in the day. He would give me my objectives at the end of the year, not the beginning. We would go over them with my SLP3 - this was in the late 90's through 2000s

SLB is not what it use to be. I retired in 2016 with a decent pension.

Hang in there - the pension is far better than other companies (at least it was back in the day)

the more objective you get done, the better bonus your manager get. by doing nothing manager can retire at a mansion with his love one. and you will have more objective

The objectives are merely to facilitate the bonus payments to managers. Never assume that they are there for your benefit.

Your meetings have objectives? Most of the ones I sit in are just corporate theater.
