I think it would feel very odd to go to a smaller company after so many years here, but there are many who say they are very happy after just such a decision.
I still find it hard to believe that smaller companies offer better benefits than here. Maybe these are just rare exceptions?

SLB has so big team on management to survive, 45% HQ sharing, so if this sharing to the employee, salary rises at least 30%
Small companies are great for those that can actually do the work required of them. They don’t have the endless layers of personnel that can hide your deficiencies so most SLB employees would be fired in the first couple of months.
I moved to a small company in September of last year. Best decision I ever made to get away from SLB
In a smaller company you have an opportunity to wear many hats, explore a variety of disciplines and hone management skills. I came from a small company and loved being totally engaged in the business. After being ACQUIRED by SLB all employees were pigeon holed into one discipline and left in the dark in most respects.
This company “thinks” they are advanced and they just very well may be…. In the techy world. They gloat upon their ways but in reality, they are far far behind in realistic approaches toward resolving internal issues when it comes to communication with the workforce. They are still stuck in the days of dirty dealings, scapegoating and clout chasing which results in countless lawsuits. One problem is the margin of error. It’s one thing to make a mistake or two. It’s another when they are tangibly intended. Another issue is, they prop a degree over the morality and deliberately overlook the moral compass of individuals who make poor decisions through their very own technology and therefore recycle the notion that they are “above all” when it comes to their illegal practices. The ego is an extremely excessive cycle that a lot of these people feed off each other from. When they say oil field is like family, but like so, there is always that 1 in the bunch and it’s usually an upper sharks tooth and a bottom feeding snake assistant or manager.
I worked at a small company before that company was acquired by SLB. And I can assure you that pay and benefits are much better at smaller companies.
It used to be run like a small company. Now it's preposterously out of balance since the last round of layoffs. The new managers they bring in are on another planet and don't seem to be so competent.
Joining a smaller company can bring a lot more benefits. Many colleagues have jumped shipped to smaller companies and are doing great.
If you find it hard to believe, look around and apply to jobs. You will be surprised.
It is not hard to get better benefits than SLB in smaller companies. The company I joined has a higher revenue than SLB with 5 times less employees. There have way more money for the employees. SLB is an old company in an industry in decline. They can’t match the benefits of tech companies.
