I am still doing the work of colleagues who left a while ago. The company replaced them with new hires who, in my opinion, are not at all competent for those roles. So I'm wondering, is SLB having hiring issues? Can they not find adequate replacement or do they not care enough to find adequate replacement for employees who have left?

SLB is a sales company now, and the reason is SLB can not keep the leadership on technology anymore, so it has to change its role. The former CEO made a big mistake on the technical people and research investment.
Training company ;
They have difficulties hiring for several reasons:
- the oil and gas industry is in decline and does have not a good image towards younger employees (layoffs, old school, pollution,...)
- the pay and benefits they propose are below average
- the career prospects are limited (you basically have to spend your whole career to hope to go up, they don’t hire outside managers).
Yes they are having hiring issues because SLB is a terrible place to work unless you live in a third world country like India.
