There are plenty of people who deserve to be laid off

Sadly, I can guarantee you that when the layoffs are done, they'll still be here. They're too good at a-s-kissing to even have to think about layoffs. That's our sad reality and that's why Qualcomm has been going downhill for years. Nobody in power... — read more

Qualcomm Layoff Criteria

I heard a manager talking to someone saying that one of the criteria for layoffs would be the number of years in the company and the age of the employee - 20+ years in the company and age 55+.

Better sooner than later

Would you rather constantly think about when layoffs will happen or deal with it ASAP? If it's going to be May 17, I welcome it.

17th May is the D day

17th May, Wednesday will be the day managers will start notifying the affected folks. Their last day will be 24th May. Also the cuts will range from 5% for some teams to 20-25% for some. This is going to be ugly.

Zeku SD Is closed?

Is this true? Happening same time with Q layoff? Mobile market really that bad?!

Tons of dead weight

It might sound ugly, but isn't it amazing how this company can function with so many freeloaders?

What We Need

An activist investor to come in and help fire the current management team ( CA & JT). We need to unionize to protect our jobs and job rights. Current mgt has no respect for the individual.

Tax implications for lay off severance

Anyone knows how the severance would be taxed once one is laid off with big fat severance package I don't think it'd be taxed as salary so it be like bonus or capital gains...

Qualcomm Layoffs 2023

Hi guys! Does anyone think we will have the layoffs this year? In my opinion we are doing great! I would not even consider working for the maverick fruit stand in the career.

We're still in a better position

Honestly, even with all the layoffs, we're still in a better position today than we would have been had the Broadcom acquisition gone through. Had that happened, the majority of us would not be at Qualcomm today. I'm okay with dealing with occasional... — read more

This week

The consensus seems to be that layoffs will start next week. I've decided to accept that and relax this week as much as I can. There's no point in worrying over something I can do nothing to change at this point. I know next week will be taxing on my... — read more
