I wonder how much revenue comes from NON-modem IP. I bet it's negligible.

@fle If QCT revenue is $7B for the quarter, QTL will bring $1.2B according to Q2 2023 report. If Q can't sell many chips, licensing doesn't mean much. All customers hate Q's business model.

Focusing on royalties is like saying pennies are more important than dollars.
The layoffs are coming because hardware isn't being sold. Royalty hasn't changed -- but here come the layoffs! So it ain't about royalties boys.

It does not matter if Apple uses its own modem… apple own no IP and will still pay royalties to Qualcomm

At least, Apple is not doing well in modem development. Bur they are very good at media play. Qualcomm management has been horrible in media play. They should learn from Tim Cook.
