So many here are hoping they'll not get laid off, hoping they'll be promoted, hoping they'll be able to transfer to another BU, or hoping who knows what else that's not in their power to affect will happen and push their career forward. Hoping will get you nowhere. Do things that you can. Leave Qualcomm and join a company that promotes based on merit instead of nepotism and whatnot. Find a company that doesn't have layoffs every few months and apply. Do something other than hope or you'll be stuck where you are for good.

My manager couldn't find his own @$$ with both hands. The low bar Q sets for being a Sr Dir or VP is shameful.
I hope to get laid off so I get GTFO of this fu----g company.
The most important thing for career is your manager not which company you work for. You are just a number anyways.
