Is this just lazy journalism and somebody reporting March cuts now or are we going to lose ANOTHER 2,500 employees? Does anybody know what's going on?
How's the class of 26 doing?
I've spent the last few weeks catching up with ex MS colleagues (a few who also has the same experience in the past)...
Ted Pick is not a cut on James Gorman
We've replaced a human being with a capitalist cutthroat. Culture going down the pan Ranks of useless middle management Gorman would be saddened by what is happening
When will everybody realize AI is just an excuse?

Got laid off this round. Weirdly, I'm relieved.
First weekend in forever where I'm actually relaxed. Started off feeling awful, then it just lifted. I know the job hunt will be brutal. I've been looking for months with nothing to show. But I've got savings to get by. Right now, I'm choosing to... — read more
Will WFH ever make a comeback?
Curious what others are thinking about work arrangements lately, especially after the layoffs. I know the firm prefers having people in the office so there’s more oversight, but as a parent of young kids I’d personally be very open to working from... — read more
UK
Someone posted this in a different thread, it's worth exposing it here on the main page: In the UK it's a legal requirement to make roles redundant, not people. However there are no formal job roles assigned, and having access immediately revoked... — read more
Can we talk about the choke hold India and Indians have on the firm?
Pretty much the title. I know every group has their bad apples but seeing how many employees of other ethnicities (not even talking about white people here) have been disproportionality replaced by those from South Asian countries is absurd. Am I... — read more
What's the deal with the severance cap?
I haven't been here long. Was that always a thing, or is it new?
We're done, right?
I just heard somebody say he thinks more notifications will go out today, but I have a feeling he's just being paranoid. It's over, right?

Used and discarded
Some folks I know left stable jobs to come here, thought they were moving up. Less than a year later, laid off. Probably just layoff fodder to even out the demographics. This place ruins lives.
Was this related to performance, AI, or BS?
According to this news article for reasons. Yay or Nay? https://dailyvoice.com/md/elkton/morgan-stanley-to-lay-off-thousands-of-employees-here-are-reasons-why/ Shifting Priorities: The bank is reallocating resources to high-growth... — read more
Will they wrap layoffs up today?
That would be the only good thing about it.
March 4
RIF for WM is confirmed to happen tomorrow.
Different this year?
Usually it’s the one dreadful day where everyone gets laid off on the same day. However this year (at least for my department) I have noticed with the EDs and MDs that they are being let go here and there. Since January we have had about 5 officers... — read more
I'm back one year later from March 2025 layoff
I was the author of the maybe layoffs thread last year where everyone mentioned that I was trolling. https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1jmakfz6x I was impacted, but in good spirits now since it took me a couple of months to find another role. I am giving... — read more

Morgan Stanley Layoffs 2026
This is a master thread about Morgan Stanley layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?
Hostile work environment
We went from a place I enjoyed working at to a place I can't wait to leave in just a few years. I'm not sure what caused the complete shift in culture, but it happened and I know I'm far from the only one who noticed this. I don't know many people... — read more
no more large-scale layoffs in 2025
Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Though sporadic layoff may still happen as HR is giving managers a chance to get rid of their eye sores.
Ready to move on
Been sending out job apps nonstop, just trying to get out. Around here, you’re treated like you don’t matter and no one’s accountable for anything. Management keeps talking about performance metrics that make zero sense. The place lost its... — read more
Whats to keep online brokerages like webull from surpassing us?

Layoffs in Nov?
I heard a rumor of layoffs in Nov. Any credibility to the rumors this time or just speculation based on past events?
Employee Analytics Tracking
Rumor has it that the firm is introing Sapience to track employee productivity. Good luck everyone! Time to do even more work for even less pay!
Poor 360 review?
I have a question: how much should one be concerned in a case where a poor 360 review is given? What's the overall impact of the review and does the management take this in any big considerations? Thank you.
What happened to the layoffs in June/July?
There were talks of another round of layoffs after March. Does anyone know if layoffs are still on the table for this year or no?
Any news?
Perhaps I’m paranoid, but there’s a push to complete ratings and rankings and org charts. May be typical summer fanfare but who knows. Also, some travel has been curtailed.

adp website does not show past paystubs
Hi all, I was under the impression that we’d be able to access our past paystubs via the ADP website after the layoff. However, I just checked and my ADP portal isn’t showing any paystub information yet. Has anyone else experienced this? — read more
I’ve never seen favoritism this blatant
Does anybody even care that we all know how promotions are handed out and that it has nothing to do with merit?
Enjoy Father's Day, rest well, and prepare for layoffs
As per the title, I want everyone to enjoy their love ones and prepare for bloodbath next week. Can't say if this is only for New York, but prepare for layoffs either way.
Blood on the street
Entire IED trading team annihilated today. Good luck folks
Working nights and weekends for months
Why are we not backfilling any positions? I don't know how much longer I can keep this up, and I can tell you that this is not what I signed up for. If I pull back and just do what I can in my regular hours, what are the chances I'll be fired? Or put... — read more
Get a lawyer and get to the bottom of the process

Part of me hopes they lay me off
I like the work, but the environment’s toxic. Too scared to walk away, but staying feels like slow suffocation.
