GE Vernova, formerly a part of General Electric, spent $70 million to buy a distribution center in Rostraver last month, adding to the Massachusetts-based power generation equipment manufacturer’s strong Pennsylvania presence.

Westmoreland County property records show GE Vernova subsidiary GE Renewables Grid LLC purchased the more than 700,000-square-foot property from Gordon One LLC.

GE Vernova, which is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., was created when General Electric split into three companies in 2024.

GE Vernova did not immediately respond to questions about its plans for the property along Finley Road known as Amcel Center Two. The company leased about 150,000 square feet in the building prior to buying it.

Is ESG management going against company policy?

A lot of office workers in India and the U.S. have been laid off recently.

But somehow there are still plenty of remote workers sitting in Dublin, Ireland. Why is ESG management holding onto them? What kind of justification is being made for keeping these roles?

From what I can see, most of them don’t bring anything special to the table. I’m not seeing strong skills in areas like reverse engineering or development. Honestly, it feels like teams in India or the U.S. could take over that work and do it better.

So what’s really going on here? Is ESG management going against company policy? Or do these people have connections with upper management? A lot of them seem to be legacy folks from the old Symantec days.

“Thinking about” volunteering for the next RIF? Too late, a--hole. You could have saved someone.

Lotta hot air and a whole lot of inaction. “Thinking about” volunteering (some people are trying to stay, while you have to ASK to be let go?) does nothing and earns you no points among the rest of us. You say the same sh-t every RIFmas and continue to hog 1 more headcount for a job you don’t even fu--ing need.

Tell Dell - Score either a 10 or 0

You've heard it every year, "if you don't give a perfect 10 then it might as well as be a 0", so take them up on this!

I have given Dell a 0 for the past several years, in hopes it will bring change. Instead they continue with rolling layoffs, pay cuts, mandatory RTO, rotating and incompetent executive leadership, and micromanaging direct management. A far cry from what it was like a couple years back.

The past 2 years have been back-to-back double digit declines in overall eNPS. They say they listen so make your voices heard! I will be giving Dell a 0 and will be my first year also giving my manager a 0.

Context: 6 years in sales, RR

$50B this year

How was your raise? Did you get a full share of the bonus? College kids coming in and making more than tenured workers who have earned their stripes. A useless Tell Dell coming Monday. Franklin is the leading revenue generating plant in the company and they are using you up and spitting you out. Make some real noise and unionize.

For US employees - WFH means your time is coming

From a meeting today

  • if you are WFM you won't be able to move internally. All new roles are in office.

The unsaid part is also if you are WFM expect to be treated differently from now on. Less or No promotions, more scrutinized, first on the downsizing list. I think its safe to say Quiet Layoffs are in full effect. The playbook is done at every company that has done return to office.

Worst ive seen it in the past 16 years

I'm lost. BD is lost. Can someone tell me what's really going on here?!

This is the worst I've seen it since I started 16 years ago. There is no one steering the ship anymore. If there's still a captain, no one's listening to them. The norm is hurry up and wait. The culture is lies, fear, anxiety, confusion, frustration, and baffling. One good thing I recently heard is that a bunch of higher ups were let go, so someone up top is keen on trimming some of the upper fat. Maybe we will be lucky enough to get more DEI hires to replace them!

Future Forward 3.0

As our company is going through a tough time, I would like to propose the following ideas for saving costs:

• Pay Stephanie to do nothing. She has already proven that she creates negative value, so ensuring she does nothing will immediately increase the company's value.

• Move Bob to Cognizant, ideally to a low-cost location. This will allow him the opportunity to live the idea.

• Fire all the CTOs. Why do we need useless executives who have been unable to modernize our products for years? Replace them with AI bot. Productivity jump.

• Move Kelly to report to Koushik, so that both eventually leave. Huge savings.

Any idea you would propose?

I have a theory

Ok all of my other theories have been wrong but hear me out. The March C14 -C16 cuts didn't really happen in risk/analytics/strategy/mis. It's beginning to look like AI is not going to replace 60 - 70% of analytic functions, its going to be closer to 90%+. I think these 2 things are related. The C14+ were retained to facilitate major C12 & C13 reductions.
