Plastics packaging companies announced several closures and layoffs in May. Amcor Rigid Packaging will lay off 56 employees in Fort Worth, Texas. Hilex Poly plans to close its Richmond, Virginia, plant, affecting 118 workers. Origin Materials is shutting down operations and reducing its workforce. Henkel also announced the closure of its Oak Creek, Wisconsin, adhesives facility, impacting 57 employees.

I am working fir Cisco for 12 years. I have seen so many of these restructurings so far. I wonder if they consider to offer ER again like Microsoft is doing.

Only my second year to go through this process. I know what it stands for, but can’t seem to find anything on the intrawebs. Is it 3 months and you just up and leave that day? I thought I read here you may have to work during it? Sorry for the amateur question.

Packaging manufacturers announced over 500 planned layoffs in March. These workforce reductions will occur in the coming months. Advanced Packaging, Genpak, Millwood, PCA, and Smurfit Westrock are among the affected companies. Plant closures are planned in Maryland, Utah, Illinois, Virginia, and Massachusetts. I’ve seen some comments about older Associates being offered a buyout package. Is that really a thing? I’m 61 and wondering if they might approach me as I don’t think another VBO is in the picture.

My mental health has taken a nose dive by working at this company and weirdly I wasn’t included in the recent round of MIX layoffs and I actually was hoping that I would be. I’m talking to a psychiatrist about FMLA at some point for mental health and I’m wondering if anyone’s had experience with that and found that when they came back to work that they just ended up getting laid off anyway and or should I just try to gather my notes and ask for a package?

Garlock Flexibles will close two sites. These facilities are located in Massachusetts. Nearly 100 employees will lose their jobs. The company is a flexible packaging firm. Layoffs are scheduled to begin in late April.

Mission Bell Winery, founded in 1919 by Krikor Arakelian, has been a key player in the San Joaquin Valley wine industry and once employed about 400 workers while producing roughly 10 million cases of wine annually.

Silgan Containers will temporarily lay off 150 workers across two Modesto CA facilities effective October 26, according to WARN notices and logistics-sector reports. Earlier reports from Packaging Dive highlighted that both facilities will halt operations in mid- to late-October, impacting similar numbers of employees.
