DSV is ending its operations at a Dallas County facility. This closure will result in the layoff of 391 workers. Affected roles include forklift drivers, warehouse operators, and supervisors. McKinsey Plans Staff Reductions

McKinsey & Co. will reduce its workforce. Cuts will affect non-client-facing divisions. Up to ten percent of staff may be impacted. This could affect several thousand employees over two years. Other major consulting firms have also announced recent layoffs.

Contact Center RIF

Any idea how many and which teams are impacted? They reorgd our entire engineering teams and i heard massive layoffs are coming on 30th and again next month, with 4 rounds planned as contact center is generating dozens of millions of overhead losses each year and on top of the list for 2026 cost reduction. Our VP jumped ships leaving us in a deep mess, TBH he was an a--hole and a nasty red neck type snake with a foul mouth. All Sr directors and above have been asked to provide a list and their bonus will be determined by the cost savings and offshore ratio they can show. My wife is close to a Sr director even he doesn't know how many but provided a vague explanation while asking her to compile a list

30,000? more like 22,000 so far…

Based on my rough calculations (and acknowledging there are likely different data sources), Aria showed approximately 178K employees at the start of August. As of today, Oracle General slack channel count indicates just under 155K employees.

This suggests that roughly 22K employees have been impacted by RIFs so far in FY26 …that’s before accounting for EMEA and the Philippines.

Is my math off?

IRS Cuts 6,700 Jobs, Impacting Tax Collection

The IRS plans to lay off 6,700 employees. This action could strain tax collection resources. It may also impact government revenue and the budget balance. New tax policies for 2025 include a higher estate tax exemption. These changes lead wealthy investors to focus on tax planning.

Q re AI Impacts

I want to see what people on this board think about the impact of AI on our industry or specific roles/teams. I know that things are already happening and that there is no going back, it's not looking good. But I also thing that the impact is not going to be linear and that some parts will be affected more than others. What do you think and are you seeing it already. I am in Finance/planning so impacts have been limited so far but I can see situations where some of the low level work is completely done with AI.

Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

So what's the word on the street here? QVC has officially filed for chapter 11 and plans to be out of it in 90 days, so clearly there's already a plan here. I can't imagine there won't be an immediate impact to jobs.

May is going to be a bloodbath for a lot of Maverick folks

Layoffs happened last Monday. Not sure what the count was or what orgs were hit exactly but they happened. I know one person was in FED tech support, though. And a few other in I think SRO, whatever that org is. I'm sure ISG/CSG was hit like usual as well lol.

With the rollout of Maverick VERY quickly approaching, I feel confident that a lot of the "main" people involved with the project will be let go after "go live." I hope not but, I do feel their time is limited.

The original deadline and "due date/go live" date was early February and that was missed by 20 miles. JC sent out a heated email stating that it will not be pushed back again. He was PI---D.

I still don't think it will be remotely ready for the May release but, not my problem. As per usual, it will be forced upon the workforce half broken, or barely working and with little to no training; and the poor unfortunate souls who have to use these tools will be blamed for not knowing how to use them.

With an NDA project so close to the go-live date, it'd be ignorant and stupid to layoff anyone heavily involved but, once it rolls out into production? The job is "done" and those people are no longer "needed."

The "lead" of the entire project is a mo--n to put it nicely and well... NC better start putting a resume together. I would be anyways, had I been the main, or one of the main dawgs in this NDA.

I've only been at Dell for like 8 years but Maverick is easily one of the biggest CF projects of them all.

Command Center outsourced?

I heard the Command Center and Help Desk departments were recently outsourced before the New Year? And now from seeing this site, it seems that a lot of departments are being slashed? Wow. How is this affecting the day to day operations with the app support and daily prod processing that was always deemed critical?

South Florida Sees Fewer Layoffs in Q1 2026

Fewer South Florida workers were affected by layoffs. This occurred during the first quarter of 2026. The overall impact of these job cuts was smaller. However, one specific sector still led in job reductions. The total number of workers facing job cuts decreased.

EMEA layoffs and impacts

Today VZ UK got an update. The impact is expected to be well over 100 people, but consultations will go well into May and maybe summer.. FR is beating around the bush, restructuring reasoning seems to be mixed up. might work against them (the firm, not employees). BE got an update last week, more than 50 people on the block, impacts expected May to June, probably sales and product will be the first to go. DE is still pulling its head out of its ar-e, no real updates, but then again we're talking about the country that still uses faxes and cash. i've got next to no work and sales has disappeared. all I can say is ALL ABOARD HERE COMES THE SEVERANCE EXPRESS!
